Kaito'ahti awoke slowly, stretching his tail luxuriously as his eyes blinked open. The warm tropical waters surrounding him seemed to have soothing properties of its own; that was the best night's sleep he had had in quite awhile. Kaito glanced around at the colorful coral and likewise varied fish; the filtered sunlight played on the sandy bottom, casting dancing shadows on everything from the sand, to the coral, to his own body. Despite his relaxed appearance, Kaito kept an eye open for sharks. Unfortunately, his brightly colored body made it difficult to blend into any terrain; instead, he made an extremely visible target. He glanced down at his multicolored tail, sighing. If only...but no. He would not consider his past now, when he had just managed to become calm.

Meanwhile, not far from the Colorful Ulaya. but up in the surface, comfortably sat a Red, yellow and black-striped Ulaya Uudesa, looking down at her reflection, as well as looking further into the waters to spot some fish swimming by. She giggled. When not in the waters, she sometimes liked to head on land, feeling the warm heat of the sun on her body, even though it sometimes felt uncomfortable to the tail. And she'd sometimes like to look at herself in the reflections on the water. "Hmm?" She wondered, curious. Dipping her head into the water, she blinked with curious interest, seeing she wasn't the only Uudesa around. And by far quite a very genuine Uudesa indeed! He seemed to be a base of changing blue to seagreen, and his body was completely covered in spots! She tilted her head, a small grin on her face ; she wanted to meet this Uudesa. Could he be as interesting as the looks of his fur? With some work of her frontpaws she flopped into the water. her tail slightly brushing up against the earth, but thankfully it didn't harm her. in quick movements she swam to the male.

Kaito sensed something blocking more of the sun's light than was the norm. Could it be a boat, or something less pleasant? A surge of adrenaline swept through the male uudesa as he shot up and turned to face whatever was hurling its way toward him. He calmed down instantly as he saw a colorful female swimming toward him from the surface above. Smiling welcomingly, he awaited her arrival patiently while taking in her appearance. She seemed to be mostly red and yellow, with hints of red and blue. However, the specific patterns upon her were still fuzzy to his eyes.

Kachoou smiled when she noticed that the male had taken awareness that she was coming. At least she wouldn't have to try and surprise him by accident. The closer she got the move vibrant his colors stood out, it was hard to tell which part of him to focus more. She liked the way his tail looked. It reminded her of the sunsets she'd see when stopping by on land. "Hehe, Hai~" She said bodly, not at all seeming hesitant on introducing herself, or wait through a small conversation before mentioning her name. She liked to be up and from first thing with new creatures or Uudesa's she'd met, "I'm Kachoou!" She smiled at him as a friendly gesture.

Now that she was close enough, Kaito could see that the other was striped with blank and had blue spots on her ear and tail tips. She was beautiful, truly beautiful. Blushing slightly, he listened to her immediate and enthusiastic greeting. Her smile was infectious; soon his own grin slid over his features, brightening his face. Eyes as red as the hue of her own body became illuminated with his smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you Kachoou. Your name is truly unique. My own in Kaito'ahti, which is a bit of a mouthful. You may, therefore, call me by any shorter name that you find fitting."

Kachoou giggled, finding his name interesting, yet funny because of how long his name was, "Okay, I'll name you Kaito!" She said cheerfully spinning in circles in the water, liking the feeling of the water moving along with her body, "How are you, during this fiine day?" She asked, sounding less rambunctious, trying to calm her over-peppyness down.

The newly dubbed Kaito smiled winningly at his newest companion. Her giggles caused her face light up, causing rosy red cheeks to glow and emerald green eyes to shimmer in the hazy sunlight. He observed the affects of her happiness with growing warmth; it was refreshing to be around someone so full of life and joy. Her spinning circles created a small current, swaying his body to and fro in the rippling water. "I am much more entertained now that you are present," he responded to her query with another smile. Politely he added, "How are you?"

"Aww, I'm glad you feel better!" She replied gladly, feeling her cheeks grow warm, feeling rather flattered. She liked trying to cheer up her friends, or even aquaintances, not usually liking to see sad faces around. Freely exploring around at a small radius, not wanting to be too far from her new found friend. She looked at the assorted color of coral and fish whizzing by, while answering His question, "Oh, I'm doing fantastic! Earlier I was out in the surface, looking into the reflection, until I found you!" She said, facing him, suddenly with certain interest, "Have you been to the surface before?" She asked, a childish sneakyness tone came to her, sounding like a kit who held a dark secret and wouldn't tell, yet wanted to.

Kaito watched her curiously, Kachoou seemed so easily entertained. She appeared to be enthralled with the wide variety of fish and coral nearby. However, she had no problem speaking with him while following the colorful creatures about their share of ocean. His ears perked up when she mentioned the surface. To him, it represented another unknown land of mystery. There was too much mystery down here to worry about what occurred up there. "No, I have never seen the surface," he murmured, seemingly oblivious to her eager misheviousness. Forcing a warm smile onto his face, Kaito looked up at his companion once more, coming out of his opressive bubble in the process. "I'm not entirely sure I shouldn't be afraid now though. That look on your face is rather worrying." He kept the smile on his face to show that he was teasing, even as his eyes lit up in sincere mirth.

She playfully gasped from hearing his answer, "You haven't been to the surface!? It's a great place to explore, when you're tired of being surrounded by the big blue for too long. It has a whole variety of things, colors and objects to look upon." She explained while swimming back over to him, noticing his remark about her 'worrying' smile, although his smile in turn showing he wasn't serious, "Wellll.." She said sneakily, "Not all of it you should worry about. It's all based on where you come up, I would suppose," She said with a nod, her face back to normal and friendly.

Raising an eyebrow, Kaito watched the female's expression dubiously. He hated to admit it, but he was notably relieved when her friendly aura broke through the sneaky overtones. "I'll be careful not to come up in the wrong place then." He appeared thoughtfully, pondering her words as he added, "Perhaps I should merely wait until I have an escort." The mer-ulaya winked playfully at his companion, swirling the water in the vicinity with his tail.
