Introduction
The House of G'eld is the second most powerful noble house in the city of Guallidurth, second only to the house of the Yathtallar. they have held the favour of Lloth for many centuries but can they keep it in these troubled times?
Characters
Ariadne G'eld (played by AvynWing) - Leader of the House and one of the higer order of priestesses. Ariadne is a powerful but fair matron and nothing goes beyond her notice.
The Children:
Arach G'eld (played by Shosetsu) - The Elderboy of the House and resident Weapons master, a position inherited from his deceased father. Arach is a rather deadly combination of warrior and eccentric inventor. His most famous inventions to date are the sword-axe, the retractable scythe and the sun-bomb.
Illiam G'eld (played by AvynWing) - Arach's younger twin brother, the complete opposite of his rather muscular twin. Illiam is a poisoner and a rather uppity one at that. He use to fight in partnership with Arach but the two were separated for argueing too much.
Prau G'eld (played by Karakal5) - Prau's elder brother was sacrificed to Lloth as a baby, while he himself was spared. The youngest G'eld son grew up to be a powerful Necromancer. Although he hasn't had as much experience in warfare as his brothers he is still considered useful by Ariadne.
Allies and Wards
Nadyn (played by Maetria) - One of the lower ranking priestesses at the temple who has aligned herself to Ariadne in order to further her career.
Shyntyl (played by AvynWing) - An Assassin from the mysterious house of Arabn'dar. She seems to have an interest in marrying and eventually killing one of the G'eld sons.
Shiian'afay (played by AvynWing) - A surface raider who got sold to the house at a young age. He is slightly bonkers and has a cow fixation. After all cheese is a kind of meat.
Belyrr Zau'und (played by AvynWing) - A southern fire elementalist who has currently taken sanctuary with the G'eld household. He has somehow ended up as Arach's new partner and assistant. His fire magics are very useful in creating new weapons.
Schaden Sin'Lara (played by Shosetsu) - The daughter of a renegade who switched sides at a young age. Schaden has been forbidden the title of Yathrin and has to make do as a rogue. She makes herself useful by spying for Ariadne.
Feroz Kayorlin (played by Ryugen) - Feroz is a warrior who works in training the house guard, as well as teaching them how to use Arach's rather insane inventions. His superiors think of him as being rather soft. He was paired with Illiam in a mission that didn;t end as well as certain people might have wanted it to.

Arach was swamped, to put it simply. His twin had been gone for some time now, not that Arach had any doubts that the assassin would return eventually. Illium was many things but he wasn't stupid and knew when to be vigilant and the elderboy felt he had no real cause to worry. What did annoy him was that his 'dear' brother had taken that Kayorlin fellow with him, and now Arach was doing two jobs at once, carrying on his duties as weapons master but also having to train the new recruits who would soon become his mother's private guard...and she had a lot of guards. Nevertheless, the training grounds were an excellent place to test out his new inventions, and of course teach the novices how to use them, to give them an advantage in later combat. Not all of his new weapons worked as he had hoped and more than once some unfortunate male had to be carried off to the house infirmary. Still no fatalities yet, so that was a success in his oppinion. Today he had awakened earlier than he was used to allow time for his daily workout, the only time in the day when you could catch the weapons master wearing something other than his heavy steel armour. Today he had favoured a loose black shirt and matching trousers (Arach thought battle skirts were a bit drafty) but the weights on his wrists and ankles remained, only to be removed shortly before a battle. Arach took his own fitness very seriously, and kept to the strict regime his father had taught him, with a few exercises of his own invention, as well as having a carefully planned diet of high protein fungi and snake meat. After all a deadly sword was useless if you were too weak to weild it...

Nadyn sighed. She was currently transcribing reports of the latest surface raid so that both Ariadne and Arach could have a copy. More importantly they would both have a legible copy. Sometimes Nadyn despaired of the surface raiding team. True they frequently returned laden down with loot but did they ever take a moment to list their gains? Well she supposed little else could be expected of males. Imagine if they were left to run a country, what chaos there would be!
When she was done with her copies she was expected to compile a report of gains and losses. Usually losses were minimal, the surface raiders were sloppy with the paperwork but extremely efficient once on the surface. Gains would be more difficult. The leader mentioned some items specifically in his report, those of greater value or rarity, however there were always a number of smaller more mundane items gathered but not documented. The only way to find out about these was to search the storage rooms or thoroughly question the raiders.
Never an easy task. Surface raiders were not noted for their sanity (who but a maddrow would venture onto the surface?) however those of the G'eld household seemed to outstrip every other house in terms of pure insanity. Take Shiian'afay as an example. The male was utterly mad! You tried to ask him what loot he had gathered on his last raid and he would begin trying to tell you about some mythical beast called a cow! She certainly didn't relish the prospect of having to interview him. Thankfully the last raiding party had only been small and she would not have to speak to many people.
As she neared the bottom of her current page she paused to glance out of the window. She had a decent view of the warriors training grounds from here and it amused her to watch, especially when the males went head to head. At the moment she could see Arach jogging at the far end. He was certainly up early. She briefly entertained the thought of how her status would increase should she marry one of the boys of the G'eld household. There being no female heir to take Ariadne's place. The G'eld boys were by no means bad to look at and what daughters she might concieve from them! But she was in no place to thibnk such things. Better to concentrate on her devotion to Lloth and the running of the G'eld household and leave the business of males to others.

Arach had the odd feeling that he was being watched. Maybe he was paranoid, but growing up with a mother like his gave him more than a right to be. As he made his final circuit of the grounds he spotted the cause of his unease peering out of a window, then he quickly averted his eyes and carried on.
The elderboy did not converse much with the women of the house and the temples unless it was absolutely nessessary. It was a lot more painless that way, for even looking directly at a priestess was cause for a beating, mutilation, driderhood, death or whatever the accuser felt like. And from a young age Arach had made it his priority to have a warrior's death, going down in a hail of arrows and axe-heads.
Still unless he had a baby sister on the way, Arach had probably already been labelled 'patron material' for his family, their wealth and their powerful connections. So much for a battlefield death if he was to be married off, especially that daughter of Arabn'dar who had been hanging around his mother lately.
The notion of being married into an assassin house didn't sit well with the drow, the notion of an assassin house that killed its men once they served their purpose and fathered a daughter, even less so...
