 It was warm, about mid day and the sun shown beautifully. Light clouds over head kept it from getting to hot for the Christmas colored female that rested near the crystal clear lake. But even though it had been a relatively good early spring day for her, she preferred to be near the water incase the heat did get to much for her. The winter snow was in mid meld, merely patches on white over the green now and she knew that it wouldn't be to long before she missed it all.
A slightly sigh left her lips and she rolled over on her warm patch of grass so she was facing the water. Her scarf lazily draped over her neck instead of up over her nose. She didn't know why but she felt kind of lonely. It was strange, she'd spent so many years with no contact with other Ulaya and after running into one during the winter months in this land she found that she wished for company now and then. Another soft sigh and she closed her eyes, hoping that maybe a midday nap would help.

The bright orb in the sky never seemed to stop glowing and that is what one ulaya liked about it. It brought joy in his life to know that every day he could at least have something he knew would happen. The rest of his life was unpredictable. One would be surprised at how playful he was even though he had no encounter with other ulaya. The male could find entertainment in anything he did but at night, when the moon was gone and there was no light at all exept for the small, twinkling start, he wished there was someone like him to meet. Someone else to play and have fun with but alas, there was not a single ulaya he had ever met yet. There were even thoughts that perhaps he was the only one but those were always erased as soon as they popped up. It was disturbing to think about so why think about it at all?
The rainbow spotted male made his way through the shady trees. His mind was set on one thing: water. That whole morning, since dawn, he had been playing around while looking for breakfast. Spotty had never really stayed still for more than three minutes unless sleeping counted in which he normally had to pass out from exhaustion. He would admire the day by looking towards the sun to make sure it was still there and give mock snarls at the clouds that dared to block it from him. Today was no exception and now that winter was almost over, he could get more sunlight from the sun which inspired even more energy from him. He was more or less a puffball of energy but he needed his water breaks such as right now.
Spotty trotted over some low tree roots that happened to be uprooted from the moist ground. His blue optics took in his environment as he had ideas of new games enter his train of thoughts. A smirk soon developed on his maw as there was now tension in his muscles. With one powerful push of his hind legs, the rainbow pelted ulaya sprinted. The trees, bushes, and foliage became a blur as his paws hit the ground. With accurate precision, Spotty avoided any annoying branches or random patches of melting snow since those could be come dangerous. His blue hues soon spotted an opening and that only made him sprint harder. Sweat started to glisten off of his pelt giving it a slick sheen.
Upon breaking the line of trees, the male let his tongue loll out of his mouth as he grew closer to his favorite drinking spot. Though something appeared odd since he didn't remember there ever being a white, red, and green creature being there before. Spotty was coming in too fast and couldn't stop himself.
"Watch out!" he cried out, knowing that it was far too late.
With quick thinking, the male placed as much power and drive into his hind legs as he could and made one powerful leap over the still form and was embraced by a clear, blue liquid which reacted with a large splash.

She’s started dreaming, her thoughts of the land back home entering her sleep as well. One of her back paws twitched slightly, but that was a most of her movement. The voice broke through the Christmas stripped Ulaya’s sleep, her emerald orbs opening and she’d had lifted her head just in time to watch the rainbow spots hit the water. Her ears perked up she wondered a moment if this wasn’t all part of her dream. Standing Noel walked to the shore line quickly, going out into the water a little and trying to find was had jumped over her. She was still unaware that it had been another Ulaya, she hadn’t really ‘seen’ him, just the splash he had caused. She wasn’t even completely aware of what had happened really, or what he had said as he neared and woke her.

Blue optics shut tight as the water's cool temperature embraced his once sweaty fur. His previous action had caused him to go into the deeper part of the water where it was cold and seemed to penetrate his once warm coat. This kind of drink wasn't what he had expected but Spotty was somewhat okay with it. His legs kicked at the water, causing a small current to occur and tried to figure where the surface may have been. Thank goodness he knew how to swim!
Upon opening his blue hues, the lake's clear blue water blurred his vision slightly but the sun's rays guided him to the surface. With as much power as he could, the male kicked his four soaked paws and batted at the water until his head broke the surface. His colorful pelt stuck to his skin and his ear tufts were flattened slightly as he continued to hit the water to reach land. The Ulaya swallowed the water in his mouth and blinked a couple of times to notice that he was not alone and that he had not jumped over some rock. Though he was a little ways away from the shore, the sun gave his head a shine which made him stick out like a soar thumb.
Spotty took in the shape of the creature and noticed that it looked somewhat like him. His ears perked at that. So he wasn't alone in this world and not only that but the other Ulaya seemed female by the accesory and she seemed kind of christmasy. A nice touch, he thought.
"Don't worry about me, I'm good," the rainbow spotted male called out, in case the other was worried, like any normal creature might be.

She waited and waited for him to resurface, getting more worried by the second as he did not. However she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the white spotted head appear finally. A small smile formed on her face and she walked out further, the water just a little over her knees. “ You sure, you didn’t hit you’re head or anything did you? ” She would feel bad if he had hurt himself because of her. If she hadn’t been laying there this wouldn’t have happened at all.
Watching him as he neared she noticed that he was another Ulaya, at least she it looked to her to be another Ulaya. Swimming out a foot or two to meet him in case he did need help she was sure he was, and from the voice and size, defiantly a male.

The female seemed to come out a little more into the water and the male gave a small, amiable grin. At least his first contact with a creature such as himself would be a nice surprise to his day. He listened to her question and gave a nodded his head left and right, to indicate he was not hurt at all. Spotty was not prone to damage since he was usually out and about in more dangerous predicaments than landing in water.
"I'm perfectly fine, nothing hurt here," the male called back to put emphasis on his good health.
Upon nearing the shore, the rainbow spotted male noticed that the other Ulaya happened to be near him to help out if he needed help. He wondered if the other cared that she was wet and so was her pretty accesory. Spotty felt a little guilty about worrying her so much but shrugged it off knowing that she wanted to help and he did not force her to, which he would never do.
His eyes blinked a couple of times to get any excess water off of his eye lids. Once he opened his clear blue optics, he made sure the female was still there to make sure he was not imagining anything. She was still there.
"So? How long have you been in a part of these woods? Oh and my name is Spotty by the way, it's so nice to see a new friend, I hope that's okay to call you. Haha, I haven't been around that many creatures if you can't already tell. That's a pretty scarf you have there, where did you get it? Oh dear, I should probably stop baraging you with questions..." the rainbow pelted male grew embarassed after he relayed his questions and thoughts.
His blue optics looked around nervously, hoping that he was not too brash.

She couldn’t help it as she began giggling. She couldn’t recall having met someone with so many questions before. She actually thought of it as kind of cute though. Moving forwards and stepped the rest of the way out of the water turning her emerald eyes to look back at his blue ones. “ Well I’m Noel, it’s nice to meet you too Spotty. ” Taking a seat on the grass right near the water she smiled at the male. “ Umm, I’ve never been to those woods before actually. Thank you, the scarf was my mothers and I got it from her. ”

The fact that the other ulaya was giggling at him was enough to make the male blush hard. He had embarassed himself and this type of sensation was new to him. Spotty narrowed his blue optics on the ground as a sheepish feeling wiped over him at this point. His rainbow spotted paw swiped over the water as he did everything in his power not to look up and become even more embarassed.
The male noticed that his newfound friend, hopefully, had stepped out of the water and he gave a sheepish grin. Though his blue orbs found another object of interest as soon as she looked back at him. Why was it so hard to show that he was embarassed. It is a normal trait though it was true that he had not been embarassed in a while. There was nothing to be embarassed about after all when one is alone. The male's ears perked up as the clear, female voice reached them like a slight melody. He risked a peak after the christmas pelted ulaya sat down on the grass.
Spotty opened his mouth to reply but no words slipped out as they had before. This was becoming irritating. Instead of saying anything, the ulaya just gave another amiable grin towards the other. Though he found that she spoke again except this time she was talking about the location and her accesory.
"Really!? You've never been around here? What prompted you to come then? I've been here for a while and no one ever visits or even explores these parts but I sure am glad to see I am not alone," Spotty rambled before biting back the other questions he had, going on to the next subject. "Well it's a beautiful scarf. You are gifted to have it since it is a gift from your mother."

She took in his questions silently this time. She actually felt back for laughing now, having noticed that is seemed to bother him. She just couldn't help it. Having noticed the blush form on his mostly white a soft, gentle smile came over her face. " Well I travel a lot. I don't really decided where I'm going, I knew where I'm going when I get there. Actually to be honest I only stopped for a drink of water and a cooling rest. " She nodded slightly before glancing down to the scarf. " Thank you, I hold it dear to my heart. " She glanced around herself at the surroundings before looking back to the male. " So... there are no other Ulaya in these parts? Just you? "

After waiting for Noel to reply, the male found that there were no giggles in store for him. He gave a small smile seeing as she was considerate over his feelings but then started to feel sheepish that maybe he was making the embarassment a bigger deal than it truly was. It was apparent that he had been alone for a while except for the forest critters that helped make his time go by. The tufts on his white, spotted ears shifted a bit as he looked straight at the female and listened with the utmost respect. When he heard the reason she stopped by, a sudden wave of anxiety hit him. So she would have to leave soon?
"So after you get a drink and some rest, then you leave?" he inquired with a worried tone.
He did not want to lose a friend he had only just met. Or did she think him an acquaintance. No, she was too nice and he had a feeling that they were probably friends when they first met... or that could be his thinking.
Spotty's blue optics followed the same direction that Noel's green optics started to go. He then stopped at the same location she had and took in the beauty of the scarf once more. The rainbow spotted male listened to the female speak upon its intrinsic value. He then looked up as her attention was diverted elsewhere. Then she asked him the question that he knew to be coming.
"No, I'm afraid there are not," he replied, emphasizing the diction 'afraid' by prolonging it an extra second.

She smiled gently at him as he seemed to take on a worried tone as he spoke of her leaving. “ Well I have been traveling for several days with only a nights rest for each day. I could stay, a day or two to rest. I don’t do so vary often though. ” She realized as she said it that she really liked the thought of resting a few days. It was true that she didn’t stay still very often, so it was nice when she did. “ You must get lonely with no one else around? What do you do for fun and enjoyment? ” She wasn’t sure if he was the type that enjoyed having fun or if he was a laid back or what.
