What do you think life would be like for Nymphadora and Lupin if they hadn't died? How would Teddy have been raised? Do you think they would have had more children? I've been thinking about that, because they're my favorite characters.

It was sad when Tonks and Lupin died. D: I always assumed that Lupin would die though, I thought all of the maurader's would have been goners.
I think they would have had more kids! Especially since Lupin was extremely happy that Teddy had nothing werewolf-ish about him.

More kids for sure. As soon as the war ended there woulda been loads more kids...
What married couple wouldn't want kids in a stable society?

Most. Statistically, as quality of life improves the birth rates diminish.
Places like North America, Japan and Western Europe are reaching dangerously low birthrates (Japan especially).
This is even more frightening when you consider that the baby boomers are starting to die off and in the next decade or two a large portion of the population is going to kick the bucket.
I suppose Women's Lib is likely to have a large impact upon birth rates as well, however just the fact that we live in a more urban, education based environment lends itself to lower population growth. Of course, the increase in knowledge and use of contraceptives likely plays a modest roll.
Still, I digress... I think Lupin would have eaten the children.

Phil, I'm beginning to think you have an unhealthy obsession with eating children... are you feeling alright?
As for Lupin... well.. .I don't remember him eating children before razz Why would he start?

I guess he'd be raised weirder than he is now. It's weird though because Tonks and Lupin's death are the ones I hated most (simply a footnote)
Unfortunately they would have had many more little "cubs". Hopefully they wouldn't be a hairy/metamorphing bunch.
Phil may be a werewolf ninja

I dunno, maybe they wouldn't have had more kids. I mean, maybe they'd rather just take good care of the one they had... Lupin was so afraid that something dangerous and unhealthy would happen to Teddy, and there's still no proof that something didn't develop in time. Though it was pretty cool that he became a metamorphmagus. If they did have kids, I don't know if they'd all be metamorphmagi, it depends on what kind of genetic structure it is and how it works.
I did hate that they died, though. It seems so ... senseless, though I suppose that's why she did it. But even more than that, I think it seems cruel to have taken every single father figure that Harry's ever had away from him. Yes, I know he has to stand up for himself, and to learn to trust himself, but... *shrugs*

I was so sad when they died. I don't think they would any more kids. Since Lupin was already afraid about his first child.

Yes, I was sad, but not as sad as when Sirius Black had died. I think that Teddy would be raised differently, because he'd have his parents, and not some friend. In a way, Teddy is going to be like Harry, because Teddy's parents were killed, just like Lily and James Potter. I think that if Tonks and Lupid hadn't died, well, I don't know if they'd have more kids, but I know that things would be more different if they hadn't died. So yes, those are my opinions.

Theres not much I can say on this topic. My mind wanders so much with the already standing story of the Harry Potter World, I cant even imagine what their life would have been like. All I can say is that they will be sorely missed 3

Well... I wish they didn't have to die crying But... they did... it was important for what Rowling wanted to get across... She said in some interviews that she killed them in place of Arthur Weasley because she didn't want to kill him... but she wanted to kill off all the good parental figures in the book (not literally... just think about it razz ). I also liked how killing them off made it so Harry would raise Teddy as his godson, just like it should have been with Harry and Sirius (CURSE YOU Petigrew it's all your dang fault you COWARD! evil ). I guess if they DID live... maybe they would've had more children, maybe not. I think they would work out all their problems eventually and Lupin would come around... I felt so bad for their whole family! It was so sad sad I knew for a long time Lupin would eventually die... but I SO didn't think Tonks would! That made me SO SAD. Tonks was one of my favorite characters crying As was Lupin, but I saw it coming. I remember before reading #7 thinking about what'd happen to him and Petigrew. I had a feeling they would die because James and Sirius already did; it just seemed right for the story. I was talking to my dad, who remembered the prophecy of Petigrew having to help Harry at some point or another, which dad thought would kill him (and he was right)... then I thought Lupin would die a really heroic death... I thought perhaps he would kill Belatrix Lestrange, seeing how she killed Sirius, his one remaining old friend (though I loved what Rowling did to kill HER off... that OWNED! xd xd xd ). WHOA I need to shut up!!! xd

I don't know about Lupin and Tonks, but Fred and George would have pwned Wizarding Market and make Millions from Weasleys Wizard Wease. (Did I spell that right?) I thought that JK didn't really put enough on their deaths, she just had Harry walking past them and dedicated about, a paragraph, but even Mad Eyes death was through about half the book.

I like them alot, too. I would like to think that they would have had a whole pack of kids and Lupin would teach back at Hogwarts again.

Honestly, their deaths seem quite pointless to me. It seems as JK Rowling just wanted to kill them off. They don't have much plot relevance and... it would've been fine without them.
If they hadn't died... successful careers, a couple of more chilren, and rich social life...? I'm out of ideas...
