Jan's eyes were caught by gold as Mignon fixed her hair and she belatedly nodded in response to Mae. "Thanks fer checkin' et out." The two had seen each other a short time ago, when the taller blonde had stopped by Lyrus' place for a haircut. Mignon had been there. She'd obviously spent the night there, too.
A frown caught the farmer's lips as her brown eyes focused on her childhood friend. What did Lyrus want from Miggy? It was obvious to the blonde that the onion sin'aeis really liked the lamb, but he might just be in it for the sex. Mignon was gorgeous, after all.
"Mignon." An easy smile appeared on her face as she shifted over with her drink, to stand by the chatting pair. "How're ya, girl?"

"I've read a bit. Shakespeare was pretty fun to read, and I have some Ibsen in my reading pile. Do you know any other good playwrights?" he asked, always the eager one to get more things to read.
At Jan's approach, Flitch allowed himself to get hedged out if need be. Why not? The two seemed to know one another far better than he knew either of them.

Mignon shrugged. "Eh, Chekov is interesting, little boring. Of course there's Sophocles. It depends on your tastes, of course. I'm not a fan of comedies myself."
She smiled up at Jan. "Lovely, my dear. And how've you been." She grinned at her hair. "That cut does look good on you, if I do say so myself."

As owner and manager of his little pawn shop, Lyrus reserved the right to close shop whenever he so pleased and to take a day off. He tried to avoid doing so--he had a few regulars who had a tendency to threaten to stop dropping by if he didn't leave a bit of prior notice as to when he would be closed. But last night had been a long one, and he had slept through his alarm this morning...So the shop had begun the day unopened and Lyrus had opted to keep it that way.
But just because he wanted a day off, did not mean he was going to sit around and slack all day. Lyrus was not the type to waste hours lounging around. Television was typically boring, especially daytime TV. His methods of contacting the few other Sins he regularly associated with proved fruitless fairly quickly, and he had decided to make one of his rare visits to the Sin mansion. Maybe someone else had grown a foot or two since he last visit.
What he hadn't expected was several tall someones having what looked like a party on the front lawn. He was momentarily miffed that he hadn't been invited, even moreso when he recognized two of the party-goers as two of the Sins he had been trying to contact that morning, but he decided he probably wouldn't have invited himself to a party at the Sin mansion either. This party seemed like a come-as-you-are, and most of the Sins were small...and Lyrus and small didn't generally get along very well.
Lyrus and Miggy and Jan, however, did. Approaching the group, he stepped up between Mignon and Jan, draping an arm around the onion Sin's waist as he did so. "Jan, I realize you're trying to seduce Mignon behind my back, but that doesn't mean you can not answer your phone when I call."

Maelon was incredibly relieved when Jan decided that she had better people to talk to. That meant he could slink out of the way and go check out the food table. It wasn't necessarily that he wasn't concerned about her snake bite – which he was, but not too concerned – but he would much rather Mignon entertain her. Jan was... a bit of a strange one, and she left the dark chocolate boy guessing on many accounts. What she was saying was the usual one, but that was enough to make the teen a little wary. Not to mention that whole tattoo incident. Shudder.
The dark chocolate Sin snatched a small tuna sandwich off the table, before moving to stand near Flitch. He was sure he recognized that blue hair, but he definitely couldn't place the face. Probably one of his earlier childhood friends, but it couldn't hurt to talk to him a little. It wasn't like Flitch's presence was setting off any warning bells. "So... you're Flitch. We've met before, haven't we? Blue hair is familiar, 'sall...."

Maelon was really weird. Jan shook her head at the boy's lack of social grace before grinning at Lyrus and shifting to the other side of the onion sin'aeis, sliding her own long arm around Mignon's shoulders. "M'phone's still in th'kitchen. I was workin' in th'garden."
A laugh lurked in her voice as she continued. "I don' needta seduce anyone behin' yer back. Tha's why I waited fer ya t'git here before makin' my move." Straightening, she stepped back a bit to open their little circle to be more inclusive. "Lyrus, say 'ello t'Flitch. S'his party."

Oh, someone else! Yay, his party was growing bigger. Flitch's face split in a smile. Lyrus was one he recognized instantly, though he couldn't confess to knowing the single-horned sin too well.
"Hi," he greeted before Mae snapped him up in conversation.
He nodded. "I am." A tilt of the head. "We may have met a while back. Who are you, again?"
Uh? At the mention of his name from Jan, Flitch once again to face the trio. Feeling as if an unwanted spotlight had been thrust on him, he did his damned best to avoid their gazes. "Uhm... Can I get you three anything?"

Yaaaay, Lyrus~ Mignon grinned up at him, squeezing an arm around his waist, then one around Jan's. Sexy sandwich she had.
"But Lyrus," She pouted, "You never come out when we invite you. So of course she didn't bring her phone. Jani's not the type to be waiting for someone to call her back all day."

"Your excuses mean nothing to me. You will be punished in due time," Lyrus replied haughtily, in the joking manner he reserved for those closest to him. He would be genuinely haughty when he went back to work later that night. Sending Jan a mock-scowl, he tightened his arm possessively around Mignon's waist. "Now Jan, we've talked about this. Mignon's mine until the three of us are back at my place and I have the video camera ready."
He sent a little smirk down to Mignon, who was effectively trapped between the two, then lifted his head towards Flitch and Mae's conversation. Rather than interrupting, however, he lifted a hand to acknowledge Flitch's greeting as assure the fish Sin that Lyrus would talk to him once he was free.

The dark chocolate Sin kept his attention solely focused on Flitch, hoping that it would keep him out of whatever was going on over there. Though he did enjoy Lyrus's company, apparently there was some sort of girlfriend fight going on and he wanted nothing to do with it. He would just hang out over here with Flitch. The blue haired teen didn't look like he had any crazy quirks like feeling the need to randomly expose skin.
"Mmmm, I thought so. 's been a while though. Do you like books, or something?" Pryderi had told him about this meeting, but he hadn't really been paying attention to his guardian at the time. But seeing as his friend count wasn't even in double digits, he should at least try and meet up with the people he knew when he was younger. The ones who didn't give him black eyes at the very least. " 's Maelon."

Jan smiled, letting Lyrus smoothly take the win. After all, she wasn't romantically interested in Mignon, but hopefully, Lyrus would step up his game. Mignon definitely deserved that. Maybe some competition would be what it took...?
"Tha's true, I'm naw really a sit by th'phone type o'gal." A pause and she looked to Flitch. "Are we s'posed t'be doin' anythin' special 'ere?" She assumed that this was one of those weird things that would end in a new discovered talent.

Maelon. Right. He couldn't remember the other for the life of him, but at least he had a name and a face now. It was something, at least.
And books! Books were always good. "Yeah," he replied with a nod. "I'm a big fan of books. Do you read a lot, too?"
At Jan's question, his attention was once again shifted to the trio, his head bobbing slightly at Lyrus' wave. "Uhm. All I got was a letter telling me to host a party and get everyone food and drink. So..." well, this hadn't worked before, but he certainly wasn't going to give it up, "do you guys want anything?"
