We're not robots. D:

You know that's a great idea.
For all those impatient people out there, they can get robots as waiters, and just yell at a piece of metal. Jk. xD
But seriously, beside the fact that I'm not old enough to have a job other than babysitting, I never want to be a waiteress.
I have to admit, I will get annoyed when I have to wait for a while, but I never through a fit.
Because, news flash America, PEOPLE AREN'T PERFECT!
Gosh, I dread my first job because I know I'm going to have to deal with impatient, snotty brats who think that the world revolves around them.
Sorry, I ranted, but I just get so mad at how people act sometimes.

I'm sorry. I hate it when people do that. D': I've seen it happen before and it was awful.

I understand being angry if you wait that long. My family has waited that long for food, too, and it's natural to be angry at that point. But even half an hour, particularly if it's busy or you have a difficult or complicated or large order, doesn't seem to be that bad. I'm talking about within reason, you know? Some people freak out over nothing, like having another group be served first when they sat down after you. rolleyes Hearing people complain about that - it's got to be the stupidest thing ever.

Oh, yes. Hald an hour isn't bad, especially if the order is large or it's reallt busy or something. 3nodding That's fine.
People who complain about things like that are just... Gr! Maybe their order was smaller? Or mabye yours is right on the way? I find it ridiculous as well. x]

I've been there before smile Though some of the stories border on the frightening - I mean, how can people do some of these things to others just because they work at a job on a lower rung of the ladder?
PostPosted: Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:05 am

See, I don't mind waiting long periods of time, because Matt and I usually come with a huge group of people so we understand it'll take awhile for all of our orders.

We usually play MTG anyways and the time passes by so we overly don't care about the time, because it flies by when we play.

I just don't like the waiters/waitresses that constantly give us the wrong drink =o= Because I've had like 2 waitresses that gave me regular tea instead of raspberry iced tea and I cringed ><; But I was too nice to say anything so I always waited for another waitress to come by and fix it @_@;

We have this thread. And now I have decided to go and work at McDonalds. >_<
Oh well.
I start next week and a job is a job.

Eeep. I hope it goes well for you. When I was looking for a job, I put off fast food as long as possible. I admire you for taking the plunge! Good luck. You'll have to tell us about your experiences.

Just think of this thread as a place to vent should you get any horrible customers. But other than that, good luck on your first day, I hope it goes well for you. smile

Thank you.

@ Chibi
I was trying to avoid it too.
Turns out my mum kept going in there and pestering them to give me the job.
This morning she goes "So I guess this means that you will be able to bring home free food now" *hint hint*
Inside I was like "Shut the fack up you fat b***h!"

@ innoittaa
I will definately be coming on here to tell you my experiences.
And I haven't seen you around before. Nice to meet you.

But as for experiences so far.
On the second interview, they wanted me to hand out ballons to children. They all kept running away from me!
There was one boy, though, who shuffled along the seat as far away as he could from me, then pointed to the ballons and said VERY quietly "I want the blue one."
I'm not a scary person. >_<
But it should be fun, the people I will be working with are very nice.

Some kids are just shy with new people [don't take things from strangers and everything]. If one runs away, they all tend to do it. I wouldn't take it personally. Also, most fast food places rarely - if ever - give food away to their employees. Sometimes, if food is left too long on the warming tray or something like that, the employees can have it a reduced price. Or, when my brother used to work at Dairy Queen, sometimes he would get a cake or a frozen pie for practically nothing if the workers messed up on it. But if she was holding out on dreams of you bringing home piles of chicken nuggets and Big Macs and McChickens - she's in for a rough awakening!

Even if I were allowed to take them home I wouldn't.
After the way she treats me, why should I do anything else to her benifit?
I don't like fast food anyway, so I really don't want to do this job, it just happens to be the only one I can get.
All the other jobs I can do I am too young for their insurance! gonk

Nice to meet you too. smile I find that when one has dumb-as-dishwater-in-a-toaster customers, ranting helps quite a bit, and from what I've heard of the food service industry, it is important to have a place in which to do so.

...and all I can say is that nice coworkers help a lot, especially in the venting department. Comparing stories can be quite an entertaining experience. biggrin
