Okay, i'm not sure if any other school does this, but we sing a 'Gloria' piece EVERY year, literally, and it's sooooo annoying. stare
I don't mind them that much, it's just, it gets sooo repetative. Last year we sang an almost 17 minute, 3 movement, Gloria peace. OMG! I swear everyone was going to pass out. I love the one's that are more creepy like, but right now we're singing a contemporary Gloria, and it's...ugh! crying This is our third one this year! 2 have been new for us, and one we resang from my freshman year (i'm a junior now). they never leave me alone!!

My freshman year, I was in Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus and Baldwin-Wallace Honor's Chorale, and both choirs sang Vivaldi's "Gloria." What was worse was that I sang at BW in the morning and then had to go straight from there to COYC. If I never hear the song again, it will be too soon!

We have a new director, and I have the feeling that I'm gonna be in your shoes soon. We sang some kind of Gloria last concert (can't remember what), and the Concert Choir sang "Let Their Celestial Concerts All Unite." It wouldn't have been so bad, if that wasn't the song that messed up my audition for the district choir. emo Oh, well. it was well sung.

Basically, yes.
My favorite verson of a Gloria piece was DEFINATELY performing Vivaldi's "Gloria" at Carnegie Hall two years back.
Ah yes, good times.
But I typically love Gloria pieces, because they have amazing bass parts. The difference is whether or not the choir I perform it with can sing the lower octaves.

3nodding Vivaldi's Gloria was the one we sang last year. I liked that one.
