With a loud yawn and a long stretch, Kohana slowly awoke from her deep sleep. Sunlight pooled in from the hole she had placed in the side of her home and blinded her tired eyes. All around, Kohana could hear the sounds of the animals that had already awoke from their sleep. Getting up at last, Kohana rearranged the pile of large leaves that was her bed.

Looking around her tree, Kohana's ears fell. This morning, despite it being like every other morning, Kohana felt a twinge of sadness. Giving a sigh, Kohana reflected on how empty her home felt with just her in it. It was that feeling you get after a sleepover when all of your friends have gone home. But this wasn't too much of a mystery because Kohana knew why she felt this way.

She missed that moment when she woke up in Noah's home and saw him spralled out on the floor, snooring.

Noah felt hazy from the night before. Rov wouldn’t let him sleep the night before because of his continuous vomiting. Perhaps it was because of the rotten fruit he was fed yesterday. Even if Rov hadn’t made Noah stay awake, he couldn’t sleep anyways because of the loud wheezing and hacking he heard while Rov was bent over the tree’s window. He almost felt sick and uncomfortable himself after having to put up with it all.

The tired Senrei was also disappointed. He hadn’t seen Kohana ever since they first met. He always tried to reassure himself by saying that Kohana didn’t live that far away, but it never helped. There were many Senrei who flew around the forest, and the odds of just bumping into Kohana again were very low. Maybe she’d visit soon, but Noah doubt that she would want to have to come back to his dump he calls home.

It was typical for Noah. He’d meet a girl, and she’d be lost forever the next day. He often looked at his reflection in the local pond or lake, and he couldn’t find any thing disturbing about his face. Personally, he thought of himself as quite dashing. Maybe it was his personality that needed some fixing. He shrugged and continued walking on under the sun.

After Kohana was satisfied with the state her home was in, she walked slowly out the door. This was a little habit of her's. Whenever Kohana was bored and sad beyond reason, she would spend forever organizing her home. She would also change up everything's position. But after she was not two feet from her front door, Kohana remembered that her forgot to straighten the sign that hung to the right of her door. It was a little something she'd made one day after finding a small piece of wood that washed up on the shore. It wasn't anything amazing, but Kohana had smashed a couple of berries and used the pulp to paint her name along with a little strawberry and a flower. After eyeing the sign, Kohana decided that it was already as straight as possible and turned away.

After a few minutes of walking, Kohana arrived down by the water's edge. The food trees lay nearby, but Kohana had no erge to eat. Staring down at the water, Kohana saw her reflection and gasped. I look terrible! She thought, frowning. Glancing around to make sure no one had seen her in this sorry state, Kohana began to smooth down her fur and feathers until she was prim and proper again.

He could feel his eyelids begging to slide down, and he forced them to stay up. He had only gone out of the house on his day off because he needed to get away from the teacherous Rov. He wanted to move away. Maybe he could give the oak tree to Rov himself, and find an even bigger home for himself. A cave would be good, or perhaps another great oak tree near a pond of some sort. That would be better. He knew Rov wouldn't mind him moving out at all.

Noah shook the thought out of his small head, trying to concentrate on relaxing and resting his mind. He was beginning to feel a migrain when he started his walk, and it seemed to get worse as the day grew on.

It would just be wonderful if he could just rest and just play around in the springs. If only he knew where they were in the forest.

After sitting out near the ocean for a while and taking longer than normal to decide what to eat, Kohana simply grabbed a banana and wandered off into the forest. Well, she didn't wander off right after than because she had to use her two front paws to eat the banana. And needless to say Kohana was not real good at walking upright.

When she was finished eating, Kohana tossed the peal and let it stay were it dropped. But since it would simply decompose, this wasn't a bad thing. As she began her walk, Kohana was in a relitively thin part of the forest. Most of the trees were short and skinny and there were few bushes. Also, the path was clearly worn in the grass. Despite this, Kohana made sure not to step foot off it. She had learned from a previous experience that straying too far from the path could be dangerous. The first time Noah had come to the rescue, but Kohana knew the chances of that were slim.

So on she continued, letting the beautiful flowers and cute chirping birds gradually raise her spirits.

Noah continued walking for a few more minutes in the silent morning. Other than the constant squawking from the large ugly birds that hung in the trees above, it was very relaxing. After learning how to block the bird cries in his mind from past walks, he knew how to concentrate only on the calming things, like the rustle of the bush leaves and the wind running through his ears.

He somehow didn't feel complete though. Something was missing. It felt as if the wind wasn't cool enough, and the rustles were too soft. He knew that they were the same as ever, so what could be missing? It was Kohana. He had been abandoned and left by so many women, and he hadn't mourned for days after them. Why was Kohana so different? Why did he miss her so much? It was just one night they had together, and it wasn't even a date. Maybe it was because Kohana saw him differently. From his past dates, he recalled being insulted and slapped for his unique behavior. Kohana didn't even slap him once. That was a possibility.

His throughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming closer from behind a bush. Maybe it was just one of the big birds that fell down from their tree or something. The yellow Senrei ran over to see what it was.

He stopped and blinked. Before him was the lovely pink Senrei he had met before, walking on the path. Could it really be her?

"Kohana," Noah called breathlessly, too astonished to smile.

After a while, the path Kohana was traveling began to turn rough and she was forced to find another after tripping over about a million tree roots that were coming out of the ground. Kohana found this new path after making her way through a small patch of bushes; lucky for her it was only a short distance from her last path. Meaning she only had to pick a few leaves out of her hair.

This new path took her deeper into the forest than Kohana had predicted, but she was still able to faintly small the salt from the ocean; this was always her indicator of how far she was traveling. Suddenly, the little dirt path came to an end and left Kohana standing in front of a line of bushes. Turning her head to the side in a confused manner, Kohana simply shrugged and charged forward. She may not to too outspoken or tough, but she was not a quitter. Path or no path.

As she emerged/stumbled out of the bush, Kohana's attention was captured when a voice called out her name. The voice was familiar, but Kohana was slightly out of wack after fighting to push through the plant; it wasn't until she looked up that who it was hit her.

"NOAH!" Kohana squeeled when she made eye contact with the other senrei. She was a little embarrassed by her outburst, but right now that didn't matter. Kohana wasn't sure how she had found Noah in the first place, so she had had to clue where to go to find him again. But somehow she had been lead right to him.

But Kohana wasn't sure if Noah was as excited to see her as she was to see him since at the moment he wasn't smiling. So for now she held back her urge to run over and hug him.

Noah felt his heart stop, and he tried to hold back the tears of joy that would soon pour out. It was the feeling you get when you find something that was so dear to you after losing it once. Hopefully this wasn't just a dream and he would just wake up disapointed. His mouth hung open, and he tried to blink to regain his thoughts. He felt his mind yelling and dancing gleefully, and he tried to concentrate on trying not to make himself look bad.

Could it really be Kohana? He had asked himself this nearly a hundreds of times within the last minute. He felt his legs shaking in excitment.

"It's so good to see you again!" he cried out, choosing his words carefully so he wouldn't utter out something stupid like he usually did when he was truly excited. He emitted a soft chuckle, and without thinking, he quickly threw his paws around Kohana's neck. "It's really great to see you again," he said again, unaware that he had just said nearly the same thing. He usually lost his mind when he was often happy.

He detatched his tight grip on Kohana's neck and settled back down. He took in a shaky breath and smiled.

"You didn't run away," he laughed as he remembered what he was used to after seeing a girl for a second time, "or slap me,"

In the few seconds before Noah spoke or made any movements, Kohana's heart pumped fast and hard against her chest while her mind still tried to grasp the idea that it was really him. If Noah hadn't have spoken up, she probably would have jumped him...

Kohana swelled with happiness as Noah spoke; he was clearly excited to see her. Hearing his voice again as he talked to her calmed Kohana so she was no longer in a frantic state. Kohana remembered this ability from the night they first met.

When Noah made a move and started to walk towards her, Kohana felt herself tense up slightly. This wasn't because of Noah, but rather what he was going to do. Kohana was sure it would be a hug; even if she wanted him to hold her more than anything, she would be far too shy to say anything like that. Not to mention that this was the closest she'd ever been to a male senrei. She'd touched paws before but nothing else...

But when Noah actually hugged her, Kohana felt all of her tension slip away. Kohana wanted to hug him back, but a little bit of her was still a little shy and embarrassed. This was evident in the growing redness that was absorbing her face.

"I would never do either of those things!" Kohana replied, giggling. After speaking those words, Kohana remembered what she had to say. "Oh Noah, I was afraid I would never see you again..." she said, then continued with, "It's so wonderful to see you."

Noah laughed and nodded. "I thought I'd never see you again either," he replied, deciding not to go into further detail.

It was a one in a million chance that they'd meet again, and they did. He was certainly thankful for that. He felt his mind singing out in joy and happiness. Every few seconds or so, small giggles would slip out from his mouth.

He was relieved to hear that Kohana felt good to see him too. Still half-expecting a slap to the face, he tried to carry on. It was of the difficult sort to do so when you were in a extremely giddy mood though.

"So," he began, "where were you since the little 'sleepover'?"

Kohana felt all the sadness and loneliness that had been clouding her mood the past few days disappear. She felt like getting out, going somewhere fun, doing something! Just yesterday the only thing she wanted to do in the morning was go back to sleep; now she was a ball of energy.

"Oh well, you know, this and that. Cleaning...eating..." Kohana answered, trying to beat around the fact that she had done absolutely nothing. She knew how sad that would sound! "But enough about me, what have you been up to?" Hopefully Noah couldn't detect her avoidence in her tone. But he would have to have been deaf not to.
