Hai guys :B First off, many thanks to The Iconoclast for the invite; I've seen this guild before and was pretty impressed, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the invite in my inbox the other day.

However I was a little back and forth on whether I wanted to join... Firstly I suck at posting consistently, and second, in similar "open critique" environments, I can easily turn into a complete asshat. I finally decided to give it a shot as long as I watch myself, because it'd be really amazing to click in an environment that's neither pure wank nor sadistic critique.

Some info about my work... Well, lately I've kind of abandoned inking because I'm lazy, and I just want to go straight from sketch to color; so I'm still figuring things out, and working on my discipline. Some other things I want to work on are more dynamic composition and pose, as well as more exaggerated perspective. A lot of my work tends to look like models posing for a camera :/

Hope its alright to post my stuff like this; I'm sure you guys'll let me know if I do anything wrong, so no worries there.

This is probably the best thing I've ever done; still needed an hour or so, but yeah, like I said, my discipline sucks.

Most people aren't familiar enough with Moomin to comment on this.. I enjoyed doing something different.

An outfit concept sketch; I quite like doing half-baked pieces like this, mostly because I don't have a lot of free time and would rather not spend 4+ days worth of it on a single piece.

I like sketching crap like this too razz

So yeah, this is just stuff I do on my free time. At work I animate in flash and do sprites for the BS, and while it's not exactly what I dreamt of doing in school, it's definitely interesting and challenging work. Hopefully I can show more of that stuff when we get closer to releasing the game, if you guys are interested.

Thanks again for letting me join! I'll do my best to contribute when I'm able.

I love you and your art forever and ever and ever. @w@

ALSO I love the way you drew the zombies in the first picture omg I always have trouble drawing them.

From what I've seen of your art you have a pretty firm grasp of the male form and I think a lot of your stuff is pretty impressive

Very nice!

Only crits would be, your noses are all really geometric, like a door stop on their face with no character except the first zombie picture where even tho it is the same shape it looks more lifelike.

The hat base bit (what do you call that?) on the moomin picture looks wrong on the screen left, its flying saucer shaped not flat. I love the hands in this picture, they are quite rough but have a gnarled bony feel <3

Nice also to see some one drawing boys.

Oh wow, is that Snuffkin? The colours on these are beautiful xx

Oh god, Moomins! Zombies! Awesome! xd

Really liking the painterly look in these, and would definitely encourage finishing off the zombie pic - just needs some tightening up of the foreground zombie's hand/face and then it'd rock.

Welcome aboard. biggrin

I'm too tired (just got off of a 13 hour shift) to offer you any real critique right now, but I wanted to applaud your use of colors-not-related-to-pink for skintones in the first picture. I remember seeing that on your dA and being impressed by that - I'm trying to move in that direction, myself. CG R HRD.

Really like your stuff, and can't wait to see more. Only thing I'd want to see is more "finishing" or touchup in teh picutres. So far, you pretty much put detail into the face and leave the rest messy (probably intentional, but cheapens it slightly)

Sweet, I'm excited to see a few crits I've never gotten before; thanks guys!

I've gotten a lot of critique before on that first piece that says I should keep going, but... I have to admit I have no motivation to go back to it. The problem is that it's based on someone else's character, so it's not like I could really do anything with it, nor do I have any passion for it besides the initial spirit of giving and the challenge of trying something new. Honestly I'd rather put that extra push into an original artwork, or at the very least something for my job that will be viewed professionally. I'd rather not have that particular artwork stand as my best piece for very much longer 3nodding

Christ on a bicycle, Reapersun is a member of this guild? Sicknasty. Hey Reaps. As is the case so frequently in the intertubes, you don't know me, but I know you. *creepy smile*

Lulz. No, seriously, you and your art are awesome. Macho Sora made my day.

One thing I think you should do is expand your canvases. The guy surrounded by zombies looks a little cramped in the little canvas he's in, and you could probably squeeze a lot more mood and emotion out of this piece by putting some more zombies in. Right now, he's Matrix-ing his way through a handful of zombies, like any other mortal... but with a bigger scene, he could be trying to escape a ROOM full of zombies 8O!!! Dun dun dunnn.

On the other hand, the canvas size/subject placement is really effective in the Moomin pic. The cropping you have there is interesting, not confining. You've shown all of Moomin (in the event that Moomin is actually the blue dude, I'm talking about the kid with the nose) and by extension created a sense of scale for the blue dude. The fact that he extends past the canvas backs it up.

Well so far all the crit is already said. I will say this though. You must work on your tatas. You can make females can't you? You and your gay manlyness and it's slick sexiness. btw I like your pallet and how it's not overly dramatic with brightness... like mine usually does. crying .
