I know, some of us are thinking WHAT IS WRONG WITH JKR? Ending the book like that! well if you are one of them, then I say tell us, what would you have done?
My Point of Veiew:
Harry: Call me crazy but...I think he should have died. (And stayed dead! *laughs*) I was really hoping she would have ended it with the hero for once going down...but no...she has to please the children readers....*tear* I say he dies in duel with the Dark Lord, while Ginny watches...I am mean...His job as an Auror came as no shock to me...I would have liked to have been shocked.
Harry/Ginny: I don't mind the couple...Harry should be dead but oh well! On a matter of their children, I find it creepy that your children are named after almost every dead person you know! I could understand one of them maybe...but all of them?
Ron: Not much bugs me about Ron, I loved his attitude! I know he left them, but it was good...made him seem more real! Auror...hum I couldn't see that! Ron who always screams, or cowards away...fighting evil magic and such...doesn't seem right!
Hermione: She didn't hold my attention well in this book, every other page it seemed like she was either crying, or in pain.
Ron/Hermione: Yah...cause we didn't see that one coming? But I am happy their children are not named after dead people! Instead they have yet another flower name...Rose.
Luna: I would have loved to have her in the epilogue! I would have had her married to Neville, and working at the Department of Magical Creatures. (seems exotic enough) They would have one daughter for sure named Jade! To fit the whole natural, environment thing I think thay would both share. Maybe a son named hum...I got it Herbert! (Herbie! For Neville of course!)
Fred: KILL PERCY NOT FRED! *sobs*
Thats all...for now!
Edit: We...I have all have the most respect for JKR'S work. We just disagree....with some of her choices!

Although an author may be appealing to the 'child readers,' please remember that it is always her character; a character that she has carried with her for many, many years. After holding on to something for so long, would you want to let it go?
Also, she said she had this planned from the start. I feel it is more likely that this was how she planned to write it than how she bended her will to write it.

Yes, I do understand. I would not like to let go as well, in fact come to think he would be part of me (her) if it makes sense at all.

I liked the Harry/Ginny but I did see that from a long shot. Overall, I thought that bits and pieces of Harry Potter were so...umm...how to put it delicately. Obvious and it sort of made reading Harry Potter a little less than what I think it could've been. That's just my opinion, not to say that Harry Potter is a terrible book. Actually, it's quite good and its rather "controversial" events make it a very good setup for future Fanfics, which we all know, are fun to read.
Actually, I think that Harry should've stayed dead, but in a sense, he plays a major role in terms of an "underworld" hero. In other words, he should've returned as a spirit and TOGETHER with Neville destroyed the Horcuxes and ultimately Voldemort. That's just me.

I personally like that Harry dies, but then chooses to return to the land of the living.
The concept of choices playing such an important role in a person's life is emphasized throughout the entire series, and although I didn't see him dying and then coming back (I thought it would be one or the other), I felt like it fit in with the series. Harry's life has been the result of a series of important choices, made by both him and other characters, and his choice to return was one of the most vital of them all.
The epilogue of the book was also something I enjoy the way it is. It is a bit fluffy, but after all of the turmoil that Harry's life had been full of, he honestly deserved to finally have a family of his own and real happiness.
If I had to complain about anything in DH, aside from the continual camp-hopping that I got sick of after a while, it would have to be: Dobby, Fred, Tonks, and Lupin. sad

_____________{ɛɳʈɛʀ}{ɗɑʈɑ}I don't really like Harry/Ginny - its fine as a high school romance, but I mean... realistically, I don't think most people marry the person they had a crush on when they were ten years old. Or only date one person before they date the person they wed; if you can even call Harry and Cho's relationship "dating". I suppose, in retrospect, I don't like a lot of the pairings simply because I don't know many people who marry their high school hunnies. This is probably why I don't mind Luna, Neville, or Draco's marriages (although the latter is a bit... off).
I hate how he named all of his children, first and middle names, after dead people and then gave Lily the middle name Luna - I don't know why, but that just seems a bit weird. It's like "Hey Luna, you know how I name all of my children after dead people? Well, I named my daughter after you!" Awkward, much?
And I would have liked Lupin/Tonks if they hadn't gotten married immediately. I have no idea why she killed Tonks, and Lupin was obviously only killed for that scene with Sirius, James, and Lily - but I really would have been more content if like, Remi and Nymphadora had gotten married towards the end of the book (probably because she was pregnant with who would be Teddy) and only Remus dies, although I do prefer him as a character.
I liked Pettigrew's death though, I suppose.
And I think Harry should have stayed dead.

I'm glad Harry survived. His death would've been too dark of an ending, and would make it seem like the series increased in torment as it went. I know JKR planned the whole thing out long ago, but as readers we see the evolution in parts, and the series seemed much more innocent at first.
Ron/Hermione - love it. That's all. Love it.
Harry/Ginny...it's okay, but I'm not ecstatic about it. It's too...neat. I think he should've went on to meet new people in life.
As for Harry's kids, the names are kind of creepy. How are you supposed to let go of the past like that?
I hated the deaths of Dobby, Fred, Tonks, and Remus. Dobby was so amazing, I think he deserved to live. As for Fred, it seems cruel and unfair. It was foreshadowed, since nothing bad had ever happened with the twins before, but I still don't like it. And I love Tonks! Why her? AND Remus? Leaving Teddy in the same position as Harry :[. And Remus...she just had to kill every Marauder, huh?
I loved Kreacher's transformation :].
And SNAPE! Ah, that was so unfair! Right before we learn his true intentions too! D:
I do think the epilogue should've said a little more about other characters though, like Luna and George and others. But it does leave a lot of fanfic room. XD

I really think Harry should've stayed dead. Mainly because I don't like him. I think it would've given the series a different, not essentially better, outlook on it. Someone else could've killed Voldie after Harry died, who knows? Guess we'll never find out.
Ron/Hermione- Saw it coming. Not a big surprise. A lot of my friends said, "OMG!! I didn't think they'd actually get togther." I gave them an hour long lecture about how they should've seen it coming. (Close to an hour anyways. I was very disappointed that day...) I like the pairing, I just don't like the predictability.
Harry/Ginny-Not a big fan. I don't like either character much but they seem alright for each other. They could've spent a little more time thinking of names for their kids though or maybe played the field a bit before committing to each other. That might've helped.
I cried when Fred died and wouldn't read the book for two hours until I decided it wasn't worth getting angry over it till I finished. I think it was cruel how he was killed just after Percy was accepted back in the family. Not nice, J.K, not nice at all. crying
I thought Tonks' death was kind of overkill. Did she really need to be killed to bring the plot together? I kind of understand about Remus. It seemed to me that killing him brought the end of the Marauders and led the way to a new beginning for the rest of the characters. That doesn't mean I'm happy about it though.
Dobby's death was sad but didn't affect me much.
Kreacher's transformation was a highlight of the book for me. We got to see a house elf that had betrayed his former master, turn around and help Harry find the Horcrux. We also got to learn more about Regulus. (I wish we could've learned a little more than we did. I found him very interesting.)
I wasn't happy with Snape's death just beacause it seemed a little anti-climactic to me. The part that got me was the chapter where Harry goes back through his memories and learns he's a good guy. (I always knew he was though. I had total faith in him! heart ) That chapter made me cry too, just seeing all the emotional memories of his. (It also made me a little bit mad at Dumbledore.) If it had been me, which thankfully it wasn't, I would've written his death a little bit differently.
Learning about Dumbledore's past was another highlight of the book for me. I we wish we could've learned more about Grindlewald, and the Dumbledore family. I'm happy with it though.
The epilogue was the worst part for me. It seemed very fanfiction-y and it left me unsatisfied. I like how it was left opened ended for fanfiction about they're kids though. I seriously think she should've talked about other people. I really wanted to know what happened to them.
I may have some problems with how she ended but that doesn't diminish the quality of the series and how it was ended. I'll always love the books, no matter how many complaints I have.

I miss Draco's hair. :/ Also: SCORPIUS. Draco and his wife definitely were high on morphine when they came through with that name. XD They shouldn't have tried to hide their TF obsession, and just named him "Scorponok."
And I too think Harry should've just died, it would have been a lot more poignent. And I HATE that he still used Expelliarmus in the final battle. That irritated me a LOT. XP
