How many people here have seen the movie Flash Gordon (Max von Sydow as Ming the Merciless)? What did you think of it? Or of the music in it?
I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid, but I need to see it again. I remembered it when I found a YouTube video of Queen performing the theme song. I liked it as a kid - thought it was fun. I liked Vultan's Hawkmen, for one thing...And I now have the theme song running rampant in my head. sweatdrop

I saw it just a couple of years ago. Talk about pure camp. xp lol I've noticed that they've picked up some parts from the original for the new series. Much better acting. I was an extra in one film the current actor playing Flash was in. Wish I can say that I've met him, but he wasn't on the set on those days. But I have met, and took a picture with one of the Desperate House Wives.

The one with the Queen soundtrack? I've seen some of it. That actor playing Vultan was Brian Blessed, who was King Yrcanos in Trial of a Timelord.
VROOMNIG!! xd

I thought the film was rubbish, to be quite frank, but the soundtrack is amazing! I love Queen!

I will admit that the acting was really bad. But that's what makes it so fun to watch. Like watching Plan Nine from Outer Space. xp

Oh man--the Adam West & Burt Ward Batman & Robin team were hilarious! lol They did a series on TV for years, & a movie came out of it in 1966 that was just as camp and crazy as the TV series! My favorite moment had Batman trying to dispose of a bomb (classic black sphere with long burning fuse). He's racing all over the docks looking for someplace to throw it without harming anyone or anything & keeps finding fishermen, salvation army bands, bystanders, kissing couples, even baby duckies in the way! Finally he laments, "Some days...you just can't get rid of a bomb!" before the thing goes off seemingly in his hands (it doesn't of course, because he's a sterotypical hero! lol ) Link to a Clip on YouTube from this movie. And here's the immortal Theme Song! The art style in the opening credits is like the art in the Batman comics of the 40's & early 50's. The character had in fact been cleaned up to the point where the mystery & danger was completely excised from Batman's character in that era, which left him wide open for a spoof like the TV show. xd The series was very popular & there was all kinds of merchandising & stuff aimed at teens right in the show, such as inventing a dance called the "Batusi" which Batman actually does dance! See? You can find a lot of this on YouTube--just search Batman TV series.
Sorry for slightly hijacking the thread--but this really IS a masterwork of sheer goofy camp! rofl
