Okay so this is about American politics. If you know about American politics/ the candidates, then totally feel free.
So from my spoon...
I like Barack for Democrats, and for the Republicans [I am a republican], I don't know really. And it depresses me. I liked Fred Thompson but he Resigned. Now i'm part of Team Mitt. Everyone tells me he's too plastic. Frankly I don't care if a person is plastic. It depends on whether or not they can run a country or not! I personally have some odd views. Like I am pro CONDITIONAL abortion. Like if a person is raped. Then they get pregnant unwillingly. I am not pro abortion if somebody made a mistake and forgot to pay a few bucks to get some protection. I don't think that is worthy of abortion rights. So Yeah. Conditional. Even though it would be kind of difficult, I mean if you got like a police report to show it to the doctor or something I suppose. Anddddd....I am pro taxes. Not high taxes. But Taxes. We are in debt up to our eyeballs. We don't need to overtax because that's bad for economy, but we don't need to do any major tax cuts to put them below what they were either, and that's what a fair amount of democrats seem to believe we need. I am pro oil drilling in Alaska, though I think it may harm the environment, there are more environment friendly ways now, according to some site I read. If that is indeed true, that's a good thing. But we are so in debt we need to be more self-reliant, imo. It's almost necessary. Because with all these war funds and such, there's no way we'll dig ourselves out of this hole unless we move forward. I'm anti chinese imports for the most part. We got avarian flu and lead from their factories and such. Not good. If they clear up their problems and stop causing health hazards, then we should look back into it, but we don't need any more suffering. Andddd... Guantanamo Bay...I'm for it. Waterboarding--they aren't going to die. It just makes it difficult to breathe for awhile, and if that saves a bunch of people from a possible death because of attack, go for it. I just wonder if they won't say anything aybody wants to hear even if it isn't the truth to get it to stop.
And war? I'm pro war right now. We've gone so far with this war and caused so many deaths, imo, I'd hate for that to be in vain. They died for country and to help others. If the others aren't helped, then there was no good cause in their dying. I think we should finish what we started.
If any more other causes you have questions about my opinion on, shoot. I most likely have an opinion. I'm well read on this stuff for the most part, I think. But if you have proof somethign I believed to be fact that I based my opinion on is false, please show me proof so I might learn something.
I'll admit I have big flaws sometimes in that area. I hope I didn't just sound totally stupid though. And please nobody, don't yell at each other or anything. If you disagree, just say so, but no fights allowed. ;3
Sorry for the long political jumble.

Who do you want to be president of the united states?
Who do you THINK will be president of this country?
What makes a difference to you and wins you over for a candidate?
Have you had any other candidates and switched ? Why?
What political things are really important to you?

I am only voting for Hillary because she can guarantee the return of all of our troops. I have alot of friends in there and now my best friend in the whole world is going on April, and I don't want to lose him D:

Personally, I don't believe in abortion. My sister's had, like, three, and I think that's why I don't like it.

I think our current president is an incompetent monkey who doesn't have the brains to run a lawnmower.

I'm not sure.

I want someone who will stop the war and bring the soldiers home.

I have no answer for the rest of the questions, because I'm fourteen and lately haven't been paying that much attention to all the politics. Sorry. sad

Oh, Volly, you're not lame D:

I believe in abortion... But I'd rather them give up the kid instead of killing.. But sometimes it's necessary D:

I think our president is an epic failure.

That's all.

He just really hasn't done anything. D:
It's just like...Ok. Win the vote. I'll sit here andget the star treatment. xD
He didn't do much of anything for the most part that wasn't going to happen anyway. I commend him on some things, but he definately wasn't our most successful pressie.

For democrats, Obama.
For Repubs, IDK.
Yeah, I would never get an abortion, but I think there should be a choice. 3nodding

i'm leaning towards obama.

i'm sure ron paul's not going to win, and i don't know much about the other candidates. methinks either barack or clinton'll win.

i throughly agree with you about the abortion thingy.

Dennis Kucinich has dropped out, that made me cry gonk I think he had such a good campaign going on, I mean with the issues and all. You americans just aren't fond of smart candidates.

If Obama winns he should have a mexican female vice-president <: I don't know who else I would have voted if I wouldn't have voted for Kucinich (It's nice to play this 'What if game' here in Europe) because I don't know which one of the popular candidates is the lesser of two evils.

gonk Why do you keep telling us we only like ignorant candidates? I never voted for Bush, thank you. I was so disgusted he was running again I didn't vote at all stare

The only reason.. THE ONLY REASON... I'm voting for Hillary (and trust me, I despise the b***h, and I wouldn't vote for her otherwise) is because my best friend could die (btw, he went into demolition, which is why I worry he'll blow himself up or get blown up), and alot of my other friends could die in the war, and I want it to end, and she's promised that. She's practically GUARANTEED that. It's not that I'm not fond of smart candidates, but she is the only one who has practically guaranteed the withdrawal of our troops and an end to the war.

So please.. please hun, don't insult me. stare

Of course it's good to get the troops away from Iraq. I support your troops, I just don't support the war. I have to admit that Hilary sounds like a great candidate and she would be the first female president of US, which might make a huge difference. Maybe US would give up it's world leadership. I'm awaiting how the election will turn out because if US turns into a better place for all it's citizens, not just the wealthy ones, I might actually start considering moving there.
By the way, what would Hilary, or Obama, do to 'Patriotic Act'? Or the torturecamp in Guantanamo Bay?

right now, i couldn't
care less who ends
up, as long as it's a
democrat.

i might not live in
the us for a long, long
time, so it really makes
no difference to me.

about abortion, i strongly
believe all types of abortion
should be legalized.
because, regardless of
whether or not it's legal,
girls are going to keep
doing it.
either way the fetus will
not develop, so isn't it
better for people to get
a relatively safer abortion,
instead of risking the
mother-to-be's life, too?

and, SINI X, personally,
i believe that the us, regardless
of who the president is, should
keep away from guantanamo
bay. it's not their country, it
doesn't concern them, and the
us has intefered enough in the
past to last them forever.

Shindig, US "rented" Guantanamo from Cuba 1903. The naval base there is a military prison where people are tortured(including sleep deprivation, the use of so-called truth drugs, beatings and locking in confined and cold cells) By 2008 there has been 4 succesful suicides and hundreds of attemps. Amnesty International said the apparent suicides "are the tragic results of years of arbitrary and indefinite detention" and called the prison "an indictment" of the Bush administration's human rights record.
Guantanamo Bay is one of the biggest crimes against humanity. Some of the detianees aren't even eighteen. Innocent people are taken there, just because they are assumed to be a terrorist. Sometimes it's enough that you are a muslim.
