Oh, I know exactly what you're taking about.
The first thought that went through my mind when i found out they were making a movie was "Oh, Lord, they're going t screw it up" Because we all know they probably will.
Even if its a perfect movie some aspect of it will never be perfect (such as the fact all the Cullens are supposed to be unhumanily beautiful key word unhumanily)
However, even though I KNOW that the movie wont be nearly as good as the book (because they NEVER are) I will definatly still go see it.
Its a hard thing to explain, but i know what you're saying.

I already know that the book's way better than the movie but the behind the scenes stuff makes it look like its actually gonna be good! 3nodding i just dont like the cast. Except for Jacob, i think the main cast is ew! i dont really care about the other cast ppl. lol i always tell me friends who dont read twilight about how AWESOME it is! and about how hot edward is! but now, if they watch the movie, im afraid of what there gonna say! they always tell me, "He's just a charcter in a book! How do u even know he's hot?!!" lol they tell me that about all the fake guys i like.
lol my brother hears me talk about twilight all the time and he thinks its just a yucky romance but i made him watch the behind the scenes stuff and now he wants to watch it! lol
anyways, that's pretty much it. 3nodding
And i'm DEFINITELY gonna watch it! 3nodding

Oh, it's such an awful dilemma, isn't it?
On one hand, I cannot wait to see how the characters from the book are portrayed in the movie, and to see the book come to life.
But on the other hand, I'm not so sure if I can keep my cool if they mess up the movie [I'm not sure if the people around me will enjoy it if I start yelling.. sweatdrop ]
Hopefully, after I read Breaking Dawn I'll be calm enough not to shout at the screen. No longer full of anticipation! Oh, I cannot wait for the day!
Anyway, although I'm sure that there will be some downsides to the movie, it's bound to be a good movie.

After all, it's Twilight!

I don't think that they should have made it into a movie because the book has a lot of internal dialog and I as well don't think that they can get the casting down to a tee. I mean I know there are a good chunk of girls who think Robert is hot but frankly in my opinion he is one of the least attractive. He might be a great actor but I don't think he should be Edward. So there are my two sense. Though I am not going to lie I am most definitely seeing the movie I just don't want my image of the book to be ruined if this movie fails.

I think it's important to walk into that movie theatre reminding ourselves that the book and the movie are two different things, and that the movie isn't meant to be an exact replica of the book - merely an adaptation.
As long as we can keep them both separate, it should be fine.
Having said that, I personally have complete faith in Catherine Hardwicke, and am positive she had kept as true to the book as possible.
But because it's a movie, changes do need to be made to make it more visually exciting and to capture audiences other than original Twilighters.

Yes but ok the actor playing Edward I don't think is all that appealing and I think they could have chosen a much better and frankly more attractive actor.

Stephenie said that while they made some changes, it follows the spirit of the book very well. She also said she wasn't completely sold on the actor playing Edward at first either, but once she saw him acting the part she thought he was perfect. I think it will be great.
