Not Stephen, no. I'm the real King.

And here I put before you, simple samples of my modest work, which I don't take as seriously as others do.

Allow me to start with a genre that I don't practice that often. Photography. This is my last photograph. Nearly my first as well.

I still haven't decided completely what the title should be.

This is my start, a photograph, but this is rare to come again. I usually do other stuff like...

I actually prepared a huge non-dial-up-friendly post with some stuff, but then I thought to myself... well... let it be slow. The point is criticism and contribution to the artistic wealth.

im so glad i asked

man, i LOVE your work

love love love it

the first one caught my eye right away
i felt the ascent, its like i was there

the slow but steady progression of power
and what i can only assume to be like.... a moment of absolution at the top

is very powerful

amazing even!

the second one is beautiful too in the way that
the figure is what makes the image its simple but more complicated than the backround

and you have that whole stylized psuedo motion thing happening with the ribbons

i dont know, i dig it it speaks volumes to me
that we are more than our surroundings.

(also mad props for the shadow too at the bottom, s**t that looks like it would have been hard to figure out, but you did it nicely)

I feel like I've seen somewhere... maybe in your sig?
Maybe I just saw it on someone's favorites when I was browsing DA, but I swear I've seen it. It stands out in my mind.

I like it... but I think it needs something more...
Like more going on in the background or the ribbons taking up more of the picture plane.
I like your little lines in the black form.
Its adds another dimension to her while keeping it very graphic.
Maybe you should think of a few other places to put them.

Thank you for your contribution. You are correct in that I should have added more to the background, but that would have stolen part of the focus on the figure, which is what the whole thing is about.

I could have also added more detailing lines, but the idea is that I wanted a whole black silhouette with some rendered details. The lines that are already there are meant to give a bit dimension, just enough to play a the role of a simple transition to break the possibly disturbing mix of the 2Dness of the silhouette, and the 3Dness of the silk.

Mirenes, one of the things I enjoy most when painting, shading, whatevering, is dropping shadows. It's a thoughtful process and I give it the time it deserves, and I totally enjoy it.
