Is there anywhere I can see sentences in Japanese that have been diagramed? I remember diagraming sentences in school when I was young, and I think it would be useful. So far, I know the kana and 42 kanji. And I have little knowledge of grammar or particles.

I don't really see how Japanese sentences could be diagramed, but I would be interested in seeing someone's attempt or actually done if possible.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure. My knowledge of grammar is very limited. So far, I've memorized the kana from about.japanese and I'm memorizing the kanji in order from my book "Essential Kanji". I have "Japanese for Dummies", but it's kinda lame. I mean, it's like for business people, or people going on a short trip. It helps with some basics. Could you recommend a better book for my level of knowledge? Is it wise for me to continue learning kanji, or should I begin to focus on grammar and sentence structure? I'm not sure where to look to learn these things.

Work on both at the same time. For grammar I suggest the Genki series and for kanji the Remembering the Kanji series. Both are highly rated on amazon. I also own both so I'm not saying that just because others do. 3nodding
