Azula did beat the Kyoshi warriors, but what do you do you think she did? Did she just left them, kill them, or imprison them? what seems most likely???
All things considered, Sokka and the others did get away. If she ever plans to manipulate Sokka again, why should she cast away one of her threats? I think she would keep Suki and the others impirsoned for that purpse, as she did with Iroh to keep Zuko in check.
