Tsundoragakure. A once thriving city of ice structured buildings and igloos topped with glimmering powder. Life was simple then. Most villagers were ice fishers and sled dog breeders as well as infamous ice shinobi. The settlement buried in the tundra was prosperpous, and supported several smaller villages around the outer city. That's where they say he came from.
All of our history is gone now. Nothing was left whole. After the attack... the survivors had nothing to their names except for the clothes on their backs and the other few villagers that managed to escape as well. I was one of those. Only a silly little girl at that point, but after the full effect of that awful day set in, I was a new person.
I'd watched the rest of my family perish while I stood outside my home, begging for their lives and praying for mercy as I tried to break through the bolted door.
But that's enough about my old memories. It's been about ten years since then and we have grown to almost half of what we used to be. My name is Lida, and since I am the closest living relative to the old Kage, his neice, I have been appointed the new Kage. I've tried my best to keep everyone's hopes up, and we've made a lot of progress in our efforts to build a new village.
I recently made a trip to the ruins of the old Tsundora, and came across this blackened dairy. There is... a last entry, that I think explains what happened ten years ago alot better than I could. The name was burnt away, but their story still stands.

"It was cold, that I remember. But of course in Tsundora its always cold, but today seemed to have a certain chill that I couldnt put my finger on. It wasnt a tempature chill, but one that made your soul cold...the cold that no matter how many layers you have on, you can't get rid of it. I remember seeing Mira running from down the ice in a dress that seemed nothing more than cotton. I begged the girl to put on more layers but she seemed frightened for some reason, she continued to repeat, "My brother...my brother."
And then there was an explosion from her home. The young girl shrieked and ran towards the Kage's Office while everyone who heard the noise ran towards the fire to put it out. There were five men who dashed into the fire, and there he was.
The boy grinned wickedly and held a large metal pole in his hand. His voice still rings in my ears, even now as I write. He claimed himself a "shepard" and that we had all strayed from the path. The man to my left, a local ice fisher asked what the meaning of his words were. And then the man to my right begged the young sir to come with them to safety. What he did next I will never forget, the boy plunged the rod into the ice fisher and then pulled it out his still beating heart at the end of it. The man fell to his feet and the two other men screamed running away from the scene and into the flames. The boy grinned and and lifted his hand over the man's limp body while I watched in horror...he played God that boy did. He brought the man to his feet made him move, he opened his mouth and gasped at me. He asked me to tell his wife he loved her, told me he couldnt control his body that something was...and the next word I presumed to be "wrong" but of this I can't be sure of, as the young sir instructed the man to kill me and the other two men. I didn't believe he had control over him until the man lunged at me, the hole in his chest still gushing blood.
I ran, I ran as fast as I could but he continued to keep up. I lost him after I passed a one of the men who went into the building with me...all I heard was a cry for help but I couldn't turn back. I had to warn everyone. When I escaped the fire I realized I was too late...there were at least seven people with fatal wounds killing others in their path. Takahiro, the boy whom I've been talking about...was taking over the city by using the dead bodies of villagers! I don't know how he learned the jutsu...or what drove him to do it but it was happening before my very eyes. The dead began to bar buildings and set them on fire...killing whomever was inside. And then those dead would raise and repeat the process. Many men hesitated and were slain by their neighbors young children. The scene was grotesque, and the smell of death lingered in the air. I ran to the Kages to exclaim of the news and as I left I saw Mira leave with a sled dog team her eyes filled with tears. The Kage began to give instructions that all abondon the village...his exact words I believe were, "You can not kill what is already dead, leave and take all children that are alive whether they are yours or not." And with that he ran to the middle of the city. I grabbed my wagon and began loading up all persons I could until the horses could not carry more. A couple of my neighbors saw this and began doing the same as I. We evacuated a third of the village after that the smoke was too heavy for us to see. I saw my wife and children leave so I went back for the Kage. I regret to say that I was too late. The boy held the Kages head in his hand the body was wandering off by itself...
Please, My wife Kima...I love you. And I have never ever regretted my decision to be with you. I know that you feel the same. So with that, I leave you to move on. Please find someone to love you as much as I did, my last wish is that you be happy. I know that I shall die here...that is something I know for sure because it is something the young sir continues to tell me. With that wicked smile of his that once used to warm my heart...He has only one request from the remaining villagers...that you refer to him as Cain."

It cuts off after that. There's some unintelligable scribble after the last readable sentence and... and a few blood splatters, but from what I could see, the rest of the dairy was blank.
Like I've said before, we're trying our best to rebuild and keep our hope for a new life, strong. But its hard. I can only hope that our makeshift village and my people will last through the coming winter. May God help us should that boy... that dreadful man... ever come back.
