What do you play? I know after it heals its not a problem for flute.

My old oboe teacher had a tongue stud. I thought it was really wierd. Personally, I don't see why anyone would want one in the first place.

I guess it depends on how dedicated to your instrument. Such as if an infection flared up would your band be pulled down by losing you until it subsided? Especially if it is near a concert...

i would be afraid of getting it pierced, if you go to an unexperienced person theres a chance they could pinch the nerve in your tongue and it would be limp for good... not to scare you or anything XP and i agree with flutietoot01, it might get awkward when you double tongue.
