Which would you recommend of these two books: 777 by Aleister Crowley or The Magician's Companion by that one guy? Or both? I'd like to get a copy of either of those, but I don't know much about them or their faults, really. I've read the amazon reviews but I figured it'd be nice if I got a guildy's opinion.

Haven't read either. But it's my philosophy to read everything and anything you can get your hands on. You don't have to buy them, of course. Just go to a local big bookstore, sit and read them. They probably have one of them in their stock.

I've got the Magician's Companion, and I think it's ace, and definitely worth buying. People say 777 is awesome, so I'm sure it's at least alright.
