It's my girlfriend's fault I'm on here, but this site is too damn addicting for my good.
Only problem is, I can't stand all the 12-year-olds, so I don't talk to much of anyone.

I'm Anthony, some call me Avoral, or shorten it down to something endearing like Avy or Av.
I really don't care what you call me, as long as it doesn't make me want to stab you in the face.

I'm a writer, though constantly suffering the block, I play bass, I run, and am in the national guard as a communications specialist. I may be 22, but I still enjoy rolling down hills and using my face to crawl across hardwood floors as much as the next five-year-old.
Currently studying to be a clinical psychologist, and coming along nicely; I've got a double-minor going in writing and philosophy.
Just keeping the coursework interesting.

I really don't know what else to say.
So I'll just leave it at that.

welcome! the joys of acting like a kid. honestly, it's what makes my life as a parent more enjoyable. keeping the inner child alive tends to be extremely refreshing. hope you enjoy it here.

Welcome aboard (I have a Psyche Bachelors Degree). Clinical eh? Brave are you, yes.

Well we have a writer's subforum for your delight. Is your girlfriend currently a member of the guild, or did she just get you hooked on Gaia?

You'll find that this is a safe haven. You can discuss to your heart's content and no one will freak out because you are older than 18. "OMG, Lik 22, tats OLD!! EWWWW, R U lik ded n' stuffffff?!?!??!!1!/11" In this guild we have parents, students, workers, writers, and ninjas ( ninja ). You won't hear crickets chirp if you mention having a job, paying off loans, getting married, having kids, or any other normal life event. Most importantly, many of us have experienced the decades when music was still good. These 12 year olds do not remember the joy of watching OJ in his white bronco on TV. Memories.

Hah. You're not kidding.
I really pity the people who are overly serious about everything.

Haha. Brave, maybe. All I know is that I hate dealing with the mindset of "drugs will cure all our ailments." Sucking down whatever chemical they give you to avoid ever having to cope.
She just got me hooked on it. Honestly, she's only 18, but she's a really special case. Definitely a violation of my ages-old "no more than 2 years apart" rule, but she's the only one I've ever done that for.
As I said, special case.
Definitely mature enough to handle it.
And a big '90s lover herself.

I would have to agree with you--I haven't liked much of anything that's come out since 1998. But where grunge, ska, and alternative are concerned, I'm like a fish in water.
Not to mention that wonderful rebirth of swing we all saw.

I'm still coming to terms with the idea of Pink Floyd being oldies.

The 90s saw the victory of bands. Now days it seems more and more artists are flying solo. I'm not too impressed with the lyrics. I once heard a rap song on the radio say "It's like Murder she wrote..." talking about hooking up with a girl. I don't know about everybody else, but the last thing I need when I'm ready to get down with someone special is the scary images of Angela Lansbury in my head. burning_eyes

But yes, Pink Floyd oldies, that's a crime.

Thank you all.

And worse yet, nowadays kids are pretty much selling their souls to the media en masse. I thought it was bad back then, but it got worse. Much worse.
