As the light of the sun beamed at the sleeping Mai in the bed, she instantly sat up and stretched. Looking around in search for something, she sighs as nothing exciting seems to happen today. Sighing, she gets off of bed to take a shower. In the bathroom, her bathtub was filled with bubbly water, along with the soothing aroma of lavender bath salts. "Just the way I like it" she thought. She got in, and got off after 15 minutes. Getting dressed, she watched as her housekeeper prepared her breakfast, but she volunteered to do so herself. Once all of the morning to-do's are done, she hopped on her skateboard to set off wherever her mind tells her to. This time, picking up a certain computer program her cousin told her about.
As she skated along the sidewalk, she held an address and some instuctions in her hand. This address told her where she could find the building of a store named ".NET hackers" She stopped in front of a huge building. "This must be the place." she thought, and stepped inside.
Inside, she asked a nearby counter for Fiach office, which gave her directions. As she nodded and thanked the person, she set off, carrying her skateboard with her. As she bent down, she noticed that she have her skirt on, and shrugged at what her cousin told her. "You should be careful when skateboarding while you wear skirts..." she imitated, "Bah." As she spoke, she eventually reached the place, and knocked at the office door. As she went indside, she wore a great, big smile on her face, and sat down a chair. "Hello," she said, "I'm here to pick up Kumori. My cous' said to put it in here." Taking out her PDA and showing it to the man in the desk, she leaned her back in the chair and waited for his response.

Fiach had been sitting with his feet propped on his desk, his hair down and the sleeves to his shirt rolled up as he sat kicked back in the rolling chair, hands behind his head, and eyes shut as he listened to some soft music. Simply relaxing after a long and busy summer, one that had kept him annoyed and near having a break down almost the entire time. But that peace was soon disturbed as he heard someone knock at his office door and he quickly snatched his hands from behind his head and was in the process of rolling his sleeves back down, nearly falling out of his chair as he did so, when the door opened and a smiling teenager peeked in. Catching sight of both skirt and skateboard, he couldn't help it as an eyebrow twitched toward his hair line and the young girl sat herself in a chair before his desk before he'd even had time to invite her into his office.
Though Fiach resisted the urge to twitch at her presumptuousness, he offered her a pleasant smile as she continued on with what she was at the shop for, again before he'd even managed a word in edgewise. Quite pleased with himself when he didn't grimace or interrupt her as his nerves were mildly on edge, he smiled and nodded before saying, "And what is your name? The files are kept under the owner's name..." While that wasn't completely true, Fiach hardly felt bad for the white lie when the girl hadn't even introduced herself to him yet. So while the cursor of his mouse hovered over Kumori's file, he waited patiently for her confirmation of her name before opening it, happily content to make her wait just a minute or two longer for her barging into his office without letting him respond to her knocks.

Mai took back her PDA and faced it towards herself. Looking up, she started speaking. "Oh sorry. My name is Mai." she said, "I thought maybe you could recognize the resemblance of my cousin and I." Mai subconsciously took out her stylus and began touching places in her own gadget, crying a faint 'Ah' as she found the right photograph. "Here, see?" she said, showing...more like flashing the photo upon the man across her, "We're not exactly alike, per se. But, yeah"

Again Fiach had to resist the urge to twitch at the bizarre mannerisms of the girl that had found her way into his office. Just because someone may look familiar, or similar to someone else you'd met, didn't mean you instantly knew their name, and after just a few short seconds of staring at the odd person before him, he finally told her just that, "Just because a person's face may or may not look familiar or similar to someone you've met before doesn't mean you instantly know their name." With just a small glance for the PDA she held before him to explain her point, he gave a small shrug, "Yes, you look similar, but that doesn't tell me that your name is Mai. Just that you look vaguely familiar. Please, next time introduce yourself upon meeting someone new, its the polite thing to do." After a short pause, he gave a small sigh before adding, "And, though I'm sure you know this since you came directly to my office, my name is Fiach. A pleasure to meet you, Miss Mai."
Double clicking on the file he'd been hovering over, Fiach fought off the rising desire to mutter or sigh in exasperation, he'd really have to have Adalia or Luca start taking on more clients. The file for Kumori popped open and as the yellow and black egg floated about the screen, Fiach turned it slightly so that Mai could see it, "This is Kumori." With a gesture towards the PDA he held up a USB cord, "May I have your PDA for a moment, please?"

Mai quickly withdrew her PDA and closed everything as she stared into Fiach's statement. "Eek...I must've struck a few nerves there. Gee Mai, way to put an impression to a boss..." she thought. Finally shrugging off that thought, she managed to snap out of it enough to nod in agreement that she knew who he was. "S-sorry." she said, "I kinda have weird habits. Nice to meet you too, Mister Fiach." Honestly, she was afraid to speak to the person when she obviously hit the wrong side, though she has no choice but to do so.
Secretly breathing a sigh, she turned to look at the screen as Fiach tilted it to her direction, showing the striped yellow egg. "So this is the 'Hacker' thing Suki was telling me about." she thought, "I wonder what the surprise is with these?" Handing over her PDA to Fiach, she wrapped her chin in one finger. Suki had never said anything to her about this yet. All she asked was for her to go to this place and say she was picking up her Hacker. Surely, she said it could be named, which was exactly what she did. As another thought of herself staring into space in the real world, she quickly blinked off her memories, telling herself that she could reminisce later and wait as Fiach transferred the file.

As he saw how Mai reacted to his overly done statement about introductions, Fiach felt a small twinge of guilt. He hadn't meant to show that he was agitated, and for the most part - it wasn't really directed towards her, just life in general. In an attempt to make up for apparently upsetting the poor girl, he gave her a friendly smile when she said she had weird habits and gave a small shrug of his large shoulders, "Its all right. I'm sorry I snapped at you in regards to your manners." Irksome though it was to apologize, he knew it was the mature, adult thing to do and so dutifully, did. Although he was still convinced she should've given him time to invite her in, and introduced herself, before expecting him to just instantly know who she was...
Nodding slightly as she confirmed the Hacker egg was just that, he added, "Yes, that is the Hacker. It will eventually grow into a creature that can converse with you and play with you on the computer. " He paused for just a moment as he inserted the cord to the PDA and then into his computer to begin the download before continuing, "Do you have any questions regarding how to care for the egg, or what they'll be like?"

Mai felt instant relief as Fiach seemed to smile at her, and this was not the usual smile forced upon a person's lips that she oftens encounter among other people. Smiling back, she said, "No need to apologize. I understand." Mai quickly positioned her finger and subconsciously rubbed her cheek. "It was my fault anyway, I mean, I didn't even give you a chance to answer my knocks." she said, an inconvenient smile plastered on her face.
"O-oh...really?" she said, as Fiach explained the events the Hacker will partake. Suki never told her about the growth system, and/or the abilities of the program. As she learned all these, she became a little excited. "Actually," she began, "I do. I have little knowledge of these, and I think it's best I know how to take care of them, or the risks I might be taking. Just so I could be aware."

A quiet beep! filled the air for a brief moment as the download for Mai's Hacker was completed and with a deft hand Fiach quickly unplugged the PDA from his computer before returning it to it's rightful owner. With a small smile, he shrugged when she said she understood - it was still the proper thing to have done, even if she didn't particularly care. His smile quickly cracked into a grin as the youth before him admitted she hadn't even given him a chance to respond and almost appeared to be mildly abashed at the idea. Waving his hands lightly in the air, he gave another shrug as if to say, "Its no matter."
Amused at the young girl's behavior, he gave a short nod when she asked if it he was, in essence, being honest about the Hacker's. Vaguely, he couldn't help but wonder if she would be like Suki - or like some of the other...slightly more frustrating customers he had had. As she mentioned the need of knowing how to take care of them, he took in a small breath and pondered over how to best - and more easily - explain the AI system to her. They were actually very simple to care for, and so long as you did so, there didn't seem to be any negative effects for your computer system. Granted, if her's was anything like Li'tae...
"For the most part, the Hacker will eat data off of your computer and the internet after it hatches. If you have any files you don't want them to eat, you should probably explain this to the Hacker after it hatches - or keep the important files on a jump drive to protect them." Here, Fiach took a small pause, to allow the girl to process that, before he continued onwards, "Just remember to interact with your Hacker. They seem to love social interactions, and so long as your computer has a microphone you can just talk to them like you are talking to me now. In response, they will type you a message on the screen." Another short break followed this, before he remembered seeing Adalia constantly typing away to Li'tae on her blackberry, "You can also type to them, if you're in a public place and would rather be not be noticed and stared at for talking to something electronic."
At that, Fiach tilted his head before inquiring, "Is there anything else you would like to know?"

Blinking at the faint beep, Mai excitedly took her PDA from Fiach. Immediately after it touched her hands, she began examining its contents until she finally discovered how the 'egg' in her screen works. She chuckled in amusement as it seemed to appear anywhere, whatever she tries to do. It didn't take her long to realize that the guy in front of her had started explaining.
Nodding, she can't help but get a bit confused at first, especially with the 'eating data' part. Neverthless, after a hard thought, she finally understood and gave another nod. "Ooh, so the Hacker can talk, too." she remarked. These things never seem to fail to amuse her. It was like having her own personal digital friend...in a way that it also interacts.
Having understood everything Fiach said until now, Mai shook her head. "No, I think I got it all now." she said, "Thanks for taking the time!" Smiling, Mai clutched her PDA tightly before standing up to face the man behind the desk. Once up, she began talking, "I'm sorry, but I have to leave now. I have matters to attend to with Suki, and I can't be late." With that, she took the skateboard in her hands and placed them in her lap. Bowing, she said, "Thank you, again, for all the help. Now if you'll axcuse me..." Main waited for Fiach to permit her leave before actually leaving, just in case he had any more to say.

Fiach blinked a few times at how excitable the girl before him was before finally shrugging it off as the fact that she was clearly a well off teenager. Or, at least, that was his assumption. As he talked, he wasn't entirely sure Mai understood and so it was with a much relieved nod that he confirmed the hackers could talk. At least someone finally understood what he meant!
The Irishman tried very hard to not appear both amused and astounded that the young lady seemed to have actually grasped everything he had said in that short amount of time and as she stood up, he did as well to show courtesy to her. If she were leaving, he'd have to at least show her the common decency of holding the door for her and all of that. Or so his pride said. As the young girl spoke, he moved around to his desk, nodding to show he was listening before stopping next to her. "Of course, if you have things to take care of, you should most certainly do them."
Extending his hand, he added with a smile, "It was a pleasure to meet you, Mai." At the very least, after all, he could show her that he had the basic standards of politeness - and maybe that would convince her to knock next time...
