Sadie sighed, a small smile appearing. The light blue sky had that bright, huge yellowy and orangy orb in the sky while this dark sky had that silver orb. And those other things, like the white clouds in the day and the star shaped things at night. Stars, that seemed like a good thing to call them.
They were so pretty. A hand rose, moving about through the air as she attempted to draw shapes with the stars. In daytime, when she rest like this she'd see many shapes in the clouds, she could see shapes in the stars too. Sort of. Night was nice, so quiet.
She rose from her back, her tail sinking fully into the Lavender Waters. Sadie yawned, her mouth wide and her eyes shut. She was tired but she needed to stay out all night, she wanted to see if she could do it. Seeing the sunset again would be rather pleasant too.

A very soft voice floated from a few feet off from Sadie, where there was another Choumedia laying on her back. "They look like diamonds in the sky, don't they....."
Salcia turned her gentle blue eyes to look over to the other Choumedia, and she smiled softly to her. She had her wings tucked tightly under her, and her arms were behind her head, making almost a pillow. "My name is Salcia."

Sadie gasped, her body whirling around to where the sound came from. Her heart beat fast, and one hand moved up to play with her hair nervously. She hadn't even noticed another near her! How could she not? Because she had been too engrossed in the sky, that's why.
The other, was another Choumeida. That was good. But this Choumeida was different. Sadie's eyes widened a little, taking in the blue wings. "Wow." She said, out of breath almost. "You're lucky, me or none of the other Choumeida I know don't have wings."
Not so nervous anymore, the other did seem nice, Sadie moved closer. "Diamonds, that sounds so wonderful. And perfect." She sighed, her purple eyes glimpsing up to see the sky once more. "Sadie. That's my name." She looked at Salcia, taking in her appearance again. So blue.

Salcia gave a small chuckle, brushing a stray strand of her hair from her face. She let her tail sink into the dark waters so she was 'upright' as well, like Sadie.
Under the amazed look that crossed Sadie's face, Salcia's cheeks turned a pinkish tint. She was glad that it was dark out, or she'd be embarrassed by the fact that she was blushing. "They.. do tend to get in the way... the wings I mean...."
She then smiled brightly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Sadie."

"Really?" Sadie studied the wings some more. "It does look like it'd be hard to swim underwater." She wondered still what it'd be like to have wings like that. Since Salcia had wings, did that mean she could leave the water? That'd be absolutely amazing if she could. All those places that could be reached.
"Can you fly?" Sadie could not hold it in anymore, she needed to know if Salcia could fly around or no. "Er....a pleasure to meet you too." She almost forgot to mention that, she was too engrossed with those wings. She tilted her head back to observe the sky again, to reach it. She stretched a hand upwards.

Salcia shook her head. "Hm, unfortunately, I can't fly. I can't seem to get my lower half out of the water. When I get a certain length out, I seem to get heavier. Aside from that, I sometimes can't get into the smaller areas that a normal Choumedia can easily get into. My wings add a bit of bulk to my back."
She wasn't complaining or anything, in fact, she was quite content with how she was; wings and all. She just didn't want Sadie to think that because she had wings, she was 'better' than any normal Choumedia.

"Oh." Sadie paused, thinking. "Maybe you're too heavy." She finally said. That was....honest. Sadie twirled a strand of her hair once more, her other hand cupping the side of her face. She stared at a nearby rock, not really taking in it's appearance as she thought some more.
"Your wings are just smaller than the rest of you." She continued, turning to stare at Salcia. Was she saying too much? She dunk a little more into the water, her hands treading through the water. Sadie felt a little awkward, wondering if she should speak some more or stop.

Salcia blinked, then after a couple moments of silence as she pondered what Sadie had said, she burst out into soft laughter. "I fully agree with you. My wings are much to small to carry my weight out of the water. I suppose they're more for show. What a bit of disappointment, though, I was rather hoping they'd be something more than just an obstacle to work around..."
She looked over at the other Choumedia and flashed her a bright, warm smile. "Sadie, would you like to be friends? You seem like a lot of fun to be around."

Sadie stared and then stared some more. She had never been asked outloud if she'd like to be friends with the other she was meeting, she had always assumed that the other knew that they were already becoming friends. She scratched the back of her head.
"Of course I'll be your friend. Uh...thanks, you seem like fun too....." She trailed off, not knowing what else to say. She leaned back into the water, floating on it. "It's nice, those diamond star things." She sighed, closing her eyes. "How come you're out so late?"

Salcia smiled and happily clapped her hands together, glad to have made a new friend. It would be exciting to hand out with Sadie, and Salcia lay on her back in the water as well.
She looked over at Sadie when she was asked why she was still out. "I don't really know, I just couldn't sleep. I suffer from insomnia on occasion, so I suppose that would explain it." She smiled brightly to her new friend. "But it's a good thing; if I were asleep, I wouldn't have met you!"

She looked over at Salcia. "That's awful. I could never stand that, being insomniac at times." She shook her head, feeling bad for her. "I wouldn't of met you either if I had went to sleep. Good thing I wanted to see that sunrise again. I think I'm too early, still so dark."
Sadie smiled, thinking of the beautiful sunrise that would fill the sky eventually. She just loved them, ever since she was a teenager and was old enough to escape and come above the surface. Though when she was a child she snuck up above the surface, much more fun when you're doing something you're not supposed too.
"You ever seen a sunrise before?"

She looked back over a Sadie and laughed nervously. "No, not in a very long time. My insomnia tends to make me sleep in far past when the sun rises. It's not too bad though, I just have to wait until I'm tired enough to fall asleep."
A sudden thought crossed her mind, and she looked up at the sky again. "I wonder if they're just as beautiful as when I was younger...." She lay there, floating, then spoke again after another moment of silence. "How much longer do you think we have until the sun rises?"

"I wouldn't like that. What if everyone else was sleeping? You'd be all by yourself with no one to talk to." Sadie sighed, it'd be mighty lonely when you were awake for most of the night and then finally falling asleep when others were just getting up. But Salcia seemed all right with it...
"They probably still are. I haven't seen one in ages but I figure that they'd still be beautiful with all those colours, makes sense since the water is still lavender and the sky still so blue." Sadie looked up at the night sky. "But since you're older, you might appreciate them more. I dunno." She shrugged.
"Few hours, maybe." She wasn't sure, she just knew the sky would grow lighter as the sun rose and then the sky would burst with all those magnificent colours.
Sadie looked about, deciding what they could do to pass the time. She wondered if Salcia would grow annoyed if she....well only one way to find out. "Hey Salcia!" She splashed at the other Choumaiden, her tail kicking upwards to aid her.

Salcia shrugged a bit. "It's not all that bad, or lonely for that matter. There's almost always someone awake at this hour, you just have to search a bit, and it might not be exactly what you were hoping for. And even if you can't find someone, a little alone time never hurt anybody."
She gave a small giggle. "I hope they're just as beautiful as they were when I was younger. I'm so excited!"
She looked over to Sadie when her name was called, her mouth open to ask her if she wanted to play a game when she suddenly got a face full of sea water. Blinking, her face dripping wet now, she spit a small stream of water from her mouth. Turning to the other Chou, Salcia grinned and laughed lightly, cupping water in her hands and splashing at Sadie with it. "That was a bit of an unfair advantage!" She exclaimed, still laughing; it was evident that she didn't mind at all.
