What was your first like? How many people? Were you taken well?

Anyway... I have my first gig in my band Throne the Martyr! It's on Feb. 29th! I'm so nervous, but excited at the same time! Only bad thing is, we have to have a 5 song set, and we only have 3 almost fully completed songs... it sucks. And my low-E string is broken. So we can't have practice and make the songs... it sucks so much!

I'll post pics when I get them...!

well, i've never played a gig with a band of my own (because i can never seem to get one together lol) but my dad is in a band, and he gives me credit for teaching the entire band "i wanna be sedated" by the ramones lol. so whenever i get to go to their gigs and they play that song, i take over the part of lead guitar and i get to jam with them. it's awesome.

my first gig was at my high school talent show with my band PirX. we were only allowed to do one song thought, due to too many groups.... I have to say, we were really accepted by the audience (packed auditorium of over 300). we were all nervous as hell, which apparently made us play tighter. after the show, our bassist and vocalist left the band. Ive been trying to reform/start another one since.

I've done three.

First one was at a pub near where I live. It was originally meant to be 8 bands playing but two of them backed out at the last minute. There were a bunch of under age drinkers so it got shut down, however we organised something at another pub and the show went on.
It was awesome though having everyone who went to the gig helping move PA equipment, guitars, amps, lighting etc. The other venue was better to, better sound and atmosphere.

Playing in front of everyone though was nerve racking, by the time we moved everything and set up we were all knackered and kinda drunk. We were playing in front of 200+ and they were all just staring at us ._.
Then the music kicked in and we had one of the biggest mosh pits all night.

It went pretty well, the signed band we were gigging with said we were one of the best that were playing that night, considering it was our first gig I thought it was quite the compliment.

The second gig was in another pub but it was just standard, nothing really exciting happened.
D=

And the third was at a new years party which also went well.
=]

Kinda went off on one there, lol.

I've been in several bands and had tons of gigs all over south Florida. For my first gig the band I was in at the time needed a guitar player and I went to highschool with and they called me to be the second guitarist. The same day I joined, we had written one full song and we had a week to get a line-up because we had a show at this local bar with several other bands that have been out for awhile and were popular at the time. Which was alot of pressure considering we were missing a drummer lol. We had to make a few phone calls but got one fast. We wrote 6 songs within the time limit and had finished the 7th song the day of the gig but decided not to play it. The gig had roughly 35 people in the bar, not a whole lot but we were opening so nobody was gonna be there til later. We had a 30 minute time limit to get set up and play our songs. We hauled a** getting setup, having people that worked at the bar helped us. We played our set and it was an amazing feeling having everybody cheer for us and people moshing, it was great. Overall it was a good gig, surprisingly nothing went wrong and nobody messed up. I can't say that about my 2nd gig though lol.
