On the tv show on TLC called "FIGHT QUEST" they have two white guys, one soft-toned white guy army dude and a bald n' buff mixed martial artist from UFC.

they go around the world training for one week in the deadliest martial arts around the world and do a special episode for that specific style.

of all the ones i've seen so far, the most volatile HAS to be Kyokushin Karate.

If you look at the guys' faces as they trained with the white guys, the white guys were always at 100% while the japanese guys were barely even fighting (as did all fighters from all martial arts segments since they don't want to actually kill the newbies)

The founder of Kyokushin Karate was famous for being an underground fighter for yakuza who got his fame from when he killed an adult male bull with his bare hands. to say how he did it? he broke the bull's neck which as we all know, is insanely thick and muscular.

this is a true documented fact, and because kyokushin prides itself in never using protectors other than maybe mouthpiece and cup, it's a banned martial art in almost all forms of competition except with itself.

I'm moving to Los Angeles pretty soon where they have a couple Kyokushin dojos. Sure, i'm going to get my a** handed to me on a platter and my bones grinded in every week, but to me, it's a definite worthwhile experience. Seeing some of the best japan has to offer in martial arts is like you going to japan your first day and trying Kobe Beef freshly cut on a frickin' teppan. XD

If anyone would like to share their experiences or expertise on this topic, please do so. I'm still learning and am only stating what i know myself.

I saw that episode! I actually really like that show...
and
Those guys were fierce 0_0
I would be very very nervous if I was faced with one of them actually
[but they all seemed very nice.]

If you really are going to do the whole kyokushin thing I wish you the best of luck.
