Hmm... The weatherman said there would be rain today, but it appears that he has lied yet again.
Yue wasn’t sure whose idea it had been to come to Gambino Beach today, but it was a pretty brilliant one. Seated under the shade of a large beach umbrella, Yue was perfectly happy as he watched his younger siblings frolic about in the water and scream and run. He felt the sand crinkle between his toes as he stretched his lithe body lazily in an almost cat-like manner and sighed in content – exams were over, at least for now, and he was free.
He had thought of the weather when the sea breeze carried flecks of water to him, small drops of coolness as they kissed his skin that left him feeling dry and … salt-covered. The air itself was arid, despite the fact that they were by the ocean – he missed storms. He missed the way that the very air seemed to fill with tension before the arrival of those dark and threatening clouds, the roar of thunder and lightning, and the scent of rain seeping deep into the earth. He missed that touch of chill which storms gave to summer eves.
A shrill scream woke him out of reverie and he bolted right up just in time to see Isabelle and Miya pushing a laughing Thomas into the coming waves. “He put seaweed in my hair!” So claimed one of the twins as she caught the eldest’s eyes going their way. Thomas was still laughing, and so Yue rolled his eyes and returned to his reclining position and his day dreams.
Suddenly his cell phone began buzzing in his pocket, and Yue reached it for it at a leisurely pace. He was reluctant to come in touch with the outside world again, when this was all he wanted – for now – their perfect little bubble of peace. The illusion was charming in its brevity. Seems like it could last forever if I wanted it to, Yue mused, looking at the cloudless sky where the sun dwelled somewhere outside of his vision behind the rim of the beach umbrella. There is no time here. The azure of the heavens reflected itself in his eye in those brief moments before his gaze turned once again, to the screen of his cell phone. There was a text message. Yue opened it, and laughed.
Aaldur’s ghostly impish face appeared on the screen, floating around with his pixilated smile as the text bubble disappeared to be replaced by another message.
“You are always hungry,” the boy murmured with a crooked smile and quickly composed a text back to the Hacker. Eat these. So he snapped a few shots of the sand and the ocean and the sky and the people and saved them as feed.

The tall Irishman stood staring in disbelief at the abrupt change in weather patterns at this place called Gaia. In Durem, where he'd just left to do a bit of exploring, there was snow on the ground, and a chill breeze in the air, yet here in Gambino Isle, the beach was sunny and warm. It always amazed the man that there could be such vast differences in the weather in a place, and so it was with a smile that he trekked down the sandy beach in his worn out tennis shoes with pant legs rolled up and his shirt mostly unbuttoned.
The smirk on his face told the story that he knew exactly how odd he looked, with dress pants and a nice shirt at the beach, even though they'd grow sandy and ruined by the end of the day. His fedora held deftly in his hand so that his short hair blew carelessly in the sea breeze, only making his appearance look even more bizarre. For a man that was usually picky to the last detail on his looks, it was an unusual, and care free day. Never mind the fact that his eyes searched the horizon carefully, attempting to locate someone who could point him back in the general direction of Durem. If there was one thing Ailin had never quite been, it was as well and truly lost as he had been since he arrived in Gaia. Used to the streets in Ireland, the man was lost amongst the hubbub and craziness that made this place so unique, and, he thought in amusement, so lovable.
The man who's heart was torn between many choices had managed to find a relaxing scene at the beach where his mind flowed restlessly between the decisions he had to make. On the one hand, he had a man to deliver a message to, one he wasn't sure what he felt for, and one he knew he wanted revenge on. On the other, he had two newfound friends and an interesting relationship growing with a new man. Sighing softly, he realized he was developing a small crush on this Logan fellow, and his thoughts were slowly turning away from using the man to his advantage.
Plopping his fedora on his head with a little more force than necessary, the lost Irishman began to more intently look for a friendly face to beg directions off of, finally locating someone who appeared to be sunbathing. Putting on his most winsome smile, he meandered over to approach the fellow, not quite sure how to ask for directions...without having to actually ask. While he was new and had no problems acting the fool, there were some lines he'd rather not cross. Like admitting how thoroughly lost he really was.
Standing next to the young man, he cleared his throat softly before giving a lilting introduction, "Hello, lad, my name's Ailin and I'm afraid I'm a bit new 'round here. Mind if I sit with ye for a bit?" Not exactly the smoothest he'd ever been, but his mind was flying in many directions at once, and for one short moment in his life, Ailin was focused less on flowery words to impress, than he was on not appearing confused and lost.
What a pain life could be.

Yue had noticed Ailin long before the Irish man came to stand at the youth's side - in fact, he had saw him the moment he stepped off of the car and onto the beach. While the other three Quan children darted straight into the water, the eldest took pause and watched the gentleman in strange garments.
On a day to day basis, what Ailin wore wasn't out of the ordinary... in fact, Yue might have even noted to himself how well-dressed the man was - that is, when it was on a day to day basis. Nothing else looked as out of place as Ailin did - the fedora did not help. A business man, perhaps, who was out at Gambino beach on a whim; it wasn't such an impossible idea when you considered that the fact that the casino was perhaps ten minutes away on foot, or the notion that the marketplace, where a lot of wealthy folks, frequented. Well, the idea of Ailin being a businessman wasn't so impossible until Yue looked at his face, and almost laughed. Clearly the man wasn't expecting this.
Maybe he was seeing the ocean for the first time.
Regardless of who the man was or what he was doing here in his dressy clothing, Yue was here to relax. He was preparing to doze off when he heard the soft cough, and lazily opened one very bright green eye. Holy mother of God, when did he get so close?! A look of surprise dashed across his youthful face, but then it was gone. He pushed himself up and stuttered a reply. "Uh, h-hello." Then he blinked, realizing that Ailin had made a request and quickly gave the man a shy smile, "Yeah, sure, go ahead and sit - I don't mind. And, my name is Yue, by the way. Nice to meet you." He extended his hand in greeting, only seeing the sand clinging stubbornly to his skin at the last second and quickly wiped it on his shorts. He suddenly felt a little naked to be clad only in a pair of swimming trunks [navy blue, with white flowers Hawaiin style] next to Ailin. This is the beach... he's the one that's overdressed. Yue reminded himself, and for a moment his gaze lingered away from Ailin's face to watch his younger siblings swimming like minnows a stretch of water slightly farther away where only their heads bobbled above the waves, in habit, and one brow twitched slightly in disapproval.

Stormy grey eyes twinkled with amusement as the young man's face took on a short burst of surprise. He hadn't thought he'd been sneaking around well enough to catch anyone unawares, but apparently he had, and for a moment, a sheepish grin took his face until the lad began to stutter out a response. With a polite nod at the boy's agreement that he take a seat, he gave him a broad smile before accepting the hand that was proffered to shake, giving it a firm grasp, before releasing it. A bemused smile had once more taken his face when the young man had hastily wiped his hand off, and that smile only grew when he saw the lad's gaze move back out to the water.
Taking the opportunity to plop himself unceremoniously into the sand next to the youth, he fidgeted slightly to readjust how his pants were before giving a small sigh and a frown. Next time he got lost in Gambino, he would have to remember to be wearing shorts, or swim trunks, and not nice pants. They weren't really all that comfortable in the sand, and he wasn't looking forward to the sand finding its way into unwanted places, either. Allowing his own gaze to follow the lad's, he gave a small nod in the direction of the bobbing heads, "Your family?" Since Ailin wasn't sure if those were the youth's kids, or siblings, he simply settled for the word 'family' to describe them. Though he doubted the lad he sat next to was old enough to even have children past toddler age, he wasn't intending on making any assumptions too early in the game. That would only lead to him losing, in the end, anyway, just like it always did.
Watching the waves lap against the shore, his mind began to wander as he waited for the youth's response, not entirely paying attention to what was around him as he pondered over everything that troubled his mind.
