Oh Ubisoft, why did I doubt you? Oh, because of Red Steel, Raving Rabbids, everything Tom Clancy, and the depressing lack of a real Rayman game since I think the early days of the PS2. However, No More Heroes makes up for a good portion of your lackluster titles, oh boy does it ever.

From a gamers perspective, there is nothing wrong with this game, the gameplay is easy to get the hang of but maintains it's fun value throughout what I have played thus far, the visuals are stylish and complementary to what's going on, the over-the-top (good) anime action/violence feeds my inner maniac like none other. The only downside I'm noticing is that my right wrist is really hurting me from needing to make some provocative hand gestures to recharge my awesome beam katana (lightsaber was taken but I forgive them for that).

This title is another fine example of how games SHOULD be on the Wii, and dare I say that it might be taken RE4 Wii Edition out of the top spot in my heart for the system. The gameplay meshes beautifully with what the Wiimote and Nunchuck are capable of from a hardcore gamers perspective, aside from the common jerking notion in order to either recharge the beam katana, or executing a finishing move (a bloody one at that) on a random lacky, I'd say that Ubisoft has hit the nail on the head.

Ubisoft really puts the Wiimotes technology to good use, being able to change between a high attack and a low attack just by where the top of the Wiimote is pointing is a simple, but cool move, and the speaker in the Wiimote is used in a way that allows you to hear someone on a cell phone if they are talking to you (hold it to your ear to hear them the best, you get the idea). Just small things like that do nothing but add to this already excellent adventure.

The pacing of the story is steady as well, and what I mean by steady is that post into-video and tutorial the game is near constant lacky-slashing in the most glorious of ways throughout the game (save for cutscenes or the short loading windows). I mean, how else would you throw a gamer through a story that is based around killing people in the way of your goal (ignore Assassin's Creed here)? Each boss that I have encountered has been a interesting and different opponent, though they all scream "ANIME" at the top of their lungs, it only made it all the more satisfying to slice them into kibble due to my utter hatred of most things anime. This game also has some really neat pop-culture references and probably the best in-game black humor this side of Portal.

The most important thing that I'll bring up here though is that this game is pure, unrefined, weapon-grade fun. When people say that the Wii is fun, this will forever be the title that I will immediately think of. Very rarely will I find myself squealing out of excitement because of a video game, No More Heroes has done that many times already.

I would have loved to have given this title a perfect score in my book, but how often you need to jerk the controller around can detract from the experience, but by only a little bit. Other than that, I cannot praise this game enough. If you own a Wii, why the hell don't you already own it? Seriously, go out and buy the game. Don't have the money? Sell a kidney. Don't have a car to get to a game store? Give a Hobo a bottle of whiskey to give you a piggy back to a game store to buy the game. Why are you still reading this and NOT buying this game? GO!

Wow. That good huh?
It reinforces my notion of buying this game first when I get a Wii. User Image

CRAP! I was hoping this game would get mediocre scores, so Wii owners would actually buy it. Guess it's doomed to the bargain bin...

I would go more along the lines of

"WHY THE ******** IS THIS GAME NOT GETTING ANY ADS!?!!?!?"

But yours works too on occasion.

I saw some sweet screenshots of this game in the latest GameInformer, and I'm not thrilled with the gore. However, the gameplay seems like it would be freaking awesome, and I love how customizable the experience is.

No way in hell this game sells.

This is a real question.

How many people read in America, and give a damn?

You could probably count them on your fingers... which alot of Americans would probably have to do, it seems.

It's a Suda game, and will never sell well because of that. I don't think Ubisoft should be given credit though, they only published it. Grasshopper Studios is this game's true creator.

Anyways, I wouldn't give it a 10 either, just because of the inconsistent frame rate. If this thing ran as smoothly as Super Mario Galaxy, I'd love it forever because I am a frame rate whore. Draw distances in the city were bad sometimes too.
