Forgive Me
Forgiveness is; extraordinary.
Forgive this; my sins I pour.
Unto tearing eyes, it breaks my heart.
I was the sea which carried you away,
left you barren, carved to this.
Once soft white sands soothed my soul,
I bleed now upon sharpened rocks.
Deserving the blame you bestow me.
I still love through your new form,
The sweetness underneath.
I desire still to wash over you,
Touch you like before.
Like soft rain, cast out your doubt,
I am not the same.
We both have changed,
Too much I fear.
Do you desire still the gentle tides?
Hunger as I for the depth,
The waves to take away your breath?
I’ve touched many a shore,
Resided in dismay.
Until the wind carried me unto you.
Now I fear my jaded self has torn you beyond repair.
I beg upon the shoreline,
Be mine again to hold.
Lay with me through moonlit nights,
Through ravenous storms and gentle tides.
Let me wash away your fears and doubts,
Allow me unto you again for I wont reside;
Not this time.
I plead unashamed for love,
Greater perhaps;
For I have never breathed like that before.
Nor have I lived until the day I came upon your shore.
If you can see again my depth,
My love for you running deeper each day,
Forgive me for I have never loved this way.
