I've always sort of wondered why other professions have enhancements in item forms, while the main item enhancement prof does not. Blacksmiths have both permanent & temporary (shield spikes, shapening/weight stones, spurs, weapon chains), leatherworkers have armor patches, tailors have threads.

However, in the above mentioned, about half require the crafter to apply the item as well. So, the idea of crafting a permanent enhancement item that can be applied by anyone is something new. Personally, I would really appreciate it on my 'chanter, & non-chanter chars would be easier to shop for. As it is now, the search for mats, then shopping for a chanter, & risking your mats for a simple chant is a pain.

If they don't implement this sort of system, I'd like to see trading get a kind of 'work-bench' sort of window. This would let you put up items (like chanting mats, the item to be chanted, or metal bars, cloth, whatever parts) for the crafter to work with, while keeping them in your possesion as long as the window is open. As the crafter uses them, the created items would fall into the real trade area. The problem I see here is ensuring the crafted items get to the person having them made.

I always wonder why we only have 1 "non trade" slot.

I do like the workbench area, but I guess not many are "scammed" from enchanting/crafting.

I guess alternatively it would be nice to do something "different"

Here is another idea:

there is a crafting "satchel" that you buy. Leather working, blacksmith, alchemy, enchanting, engineering, and cloth. The satchel once is essentially a pouch. A player then can fill this satchel with mats requirement for the item they want. This will be traded in the "non-trade" slot. The crafter will use the crafting skill and target the satchel to make the item. This will ensure that the player won't get scammed or lose their item. Doing it this way WILL get a skill gain.

If the satchel is bought by the crafter, they can "enchant" the satchel with pre-made item. example I can enchant the satchel with Leather boot of speed (no such item this is an example) and it WILL require 10 hard leather and 5 magic gems. This satchel can be sold, given away or whatever. the new owner must place the require item (10 hard leather and 5 magic gem) and the satchel will convert it into the item that was "enchanted" with. There is NO skill gain from this.

What do y'all think?
