i know this one guy that plays the auxillary rack, and he NEVER shows up for practice. sweatdrop
apparently his mom made him join percussion, so he doesn't really care about
the rest of the group or practicing. stressed

Oh gawd I hate that too.
I had people like that in middle school.
I mean they're cool and all, but I there was a reason why I played almost every song by myself. But whatever.
However, I started high school this year and I'm starting to care less and less about band now. I LOVE BAND! Don't get me wrong, but we've all agreed that our teacher sucks his own a**. Gross. But yeah, we'd probably sound better if we conducted ourselves or something. So, at the moment I may be one of those people. Which sucks. Yes it do. But every minute I spend in that class makes me wish I never was in it.
That being said, I hate those people, I still love band and wish me luck for the damn class. I hate my teacher... twisted

I always look like I don't care, but when this one girl talks about wanting to play snare instead of bass I get all protective because I play snare. I don't want her taking my position. It is mine!!!!!!!!

im in purcussion and your right theres this one kid who never does anything. We had this concert in front of the whole school and he gets a solo on the timpini, so when it comes up to that he just skips it. so theres just this tamberine playing with no timipini and everyone else has a rest. Later that night we had a another concert so when it came to the solo again i push him out of the way and play for him. it was funny, but i got in tons of trouble for it.
yeah i practice for like 2 hours a day cause we always get cool songs like the pink panther and once this girl, a guitarist and me on the piano played Cry me a river the whole way through. and then we got a standing ovation. (by the way i play on the drum set and piano)

I dunno. I'm in the pit, and all the other pit kids are pretty responsible. We like to have fun, but we take our shows seriously too. Most of the jerkyness here is in our drumline. There are a few nice deticated kids in the drumline, but the majority couldn't give a rat's a**.

Our band director is pretty damn neat, but I will say none of us take our percussion director seriously. He's a total moron, and I don't think he has the thought process to run a winter drum show.
And yet somehowww...

Well see our precussion section in Wind Ensamble is good, all the percussionest are really good.
Sometimes they just screw off a little.
I mean most of them are in drumline, but there all really good players.
I mean they mess around, but there good. So I cant say there bad, but there not the most resposible eaither.

Jeesh I know what your talking about.. I'm in the percussion section and most of them prefer making d**k 'n fart jokes while the conducter is talking to actually doing anything..

I got lucky with my section....
Most everyone is good at either snare or quints or mallets, and when we need to work, we work. The rest of the time is spent goofing off, but we still make sure to get our parts down....
With the exception of the ONE person who is too much of an idiot to know that you have to LEARN the music in order to do well in band. The a** ruined all of our mallets in only half of a marching season, when in the hands of someone else, even someone who really know much about them, they'd last a few years!
He can't even play the gong right.... gonk
I am sooo glad he's quitting after this year.

Everyone in my percussion section works hard. No slackers here. Yay us!
The only problem is the sophomore who tries to be the leader all the time and the junior who thinks he knows it all, but he sucks more than a 6th grader on mallets. xp

well actually i dont care as much as other ppl, but some ppl take it to serious and are really stiff eek ,but when i get them to relax they play better, so messing around isnt always a bad thing. our line rocks! 4laugh

evabigfoot Schizophrenic Spork The majority of percussionists are idiots, but I do know a few good ones. The amazing jerk-ness of the others simply tend to overshadow the good ones. um........................................................................................................................................maybe you need to go meet some more ppl before u post s**t like this on the internet drumline rocks so suck that they never said that YOUR drumline sucked, just that most of the persusionists they know arejerks. truthfully the same goes for me, but i know some people that are great at what they do. drumline does rck, but some people are just jerks. calm down.

It's easy to point out the slackers in my drumline. It's the whole cymbal line and the quads.

No, there was a guy during fall season. Total retard... Always stepped off on his right and then told off others because he was "in consert drums before" and known everthing about anything in band. That's why he gets yelled at all the time by the instructors...
