I never said we were the perfect nation. I'd rather be here than in an Arab nation where I'm not allowed to talk or show off my purrdy face. I wouldn't want to be sold to a man that I didn't know just to be his wife. I am happy where I am. I agree, this place is cruel, sick, and paranoid, but it's people like my mom who make people like me, and I plan to make people like that also. And it's NOT because of religion, it's NOT because I want to be able to be accepted into the gates of heaven because I don't believe that. But what I DO believe is that we all have the power of choice. It's my choice to be nice, it's my choice to be nice. In my mind, I'd rather see someone smile and laugh than frown and cry. And I try to do what I can to make that known and make it happen.

And I try to do what I can to make that known and make it happen. I'm pretty sure that ONLY Saudi Arabia FORCES women to wear the whole get-up... I know that the religion says nothing about hiding your face, only your hair, neck, the shape of your breasts and your wrists... Pretty much the same as the old Japanese, with the addition of the hair. Actually, that whole body cover thing started out as protection from the climate, having nothing to do with the religion... Somehow, like every religion, it got skewed, and there remain some fools who are zealotous enough to believe in it *sigh* Honestly, though, girls here in Egypt wear incredibly fashionable and modern clothing, they just make sure that it covers all their skin (which is kinda silly, cause most of them wear their clothes skin-tight, so it goes against the point, really) and they just put on the head scarf thingy... As for being sold... That doesn't really happen, either, as far as I know... Arranged marriages do happen, but not slavery (so to speak) It's more like, some families are so strict and over-protective that that is the only way that their daughters will meet anyone. And usually, if she doesn't like him, she isn't forced to do anything. In all reality, there are problems, but they aren't the problems that most people think exist.

I grew up here, I don't know anything about anywhere else. So when people say "America is the best", I wonder how they can say that. Of course, the main reason is because the media and the government says we are. This is why the opinions I have that should be based on fact are weak. I don't like standing up for something I'm not positive of. But when I find something I truely believe, I stand up for that. Sorry, I'm distracted and I forgot what I was talking about.
