For anyone who went to Japan in the past year. Did you try the Starbucks Azuki bean Frappuccino? I fell in love with this drink and I do not drink starbucks. does anyone know if it's possible to get the ingredients to make my own here in the US?

I used to work at Starbucks. Most frapps are just the frappuccino base plus either a pump or two of a flavor syrup or a few spoonfuls of powder. And lots of ice.
Starbucks made everything way too easy for baristas. Fill it up to this line, add in two spoonfuls of this, hit this button and it will blend it for you, etc., so I don't know the exact measurements. You can kinda wing it by filling up a Starbucks cup with it. Don't kill me if this doesn't work, but:
Get a plain Frappuccino drink from any grocery store. Fill the cup a little less than halfway with it. I'm assuming that they're using an azuki powder (can't help you there), put in one spoonful for a tall, two for a grande, and either two or three for a venti, your choice. I'm not sure if they pump in any sweetening, but go for the same one-two-two-or-three rule for pumping. Fill up to the top with ice. Then, dump everything from the cup into a blender and blend.

Well azuki beans aren't hard to get, you can get azuki ice cream, azuki beans in the can, there's a sweet soup that involves just mochi (little chewy balls of rice dough boiled, it's almost like a pasta) in azuki beans... the beans are sweet and the mochi chewiness makes a unique... desert? If you can find a place that sells japanese groceries you can find azuki beans... so... i'm thinking if you buy a regular frappuchino and add azuki beans? You might get the same thing? I don't know if the japanese one had a coffee base or not.. At any rate it shouldn't be hard to get. If you can tell me if it had coffe I'm sure Peachie could explain the process of making a frappuchino

I've never had the azuki frap, but recently (just yesterday, actually) my sister and I made a mocha frap. We used coffee, dash of milk/half-n-half, ice, and hershey's syrup. The porptions were pretty random, but for two servings, it was a small cup of coffee, maybe half-cup of milk/halfhalf, handful of ice and make another half cup of chocolate or whatever. I know that's not too helpful, but it came out tasting pretty much like Starbuck's (expect cheapter, stronger, and in my opinion, yummier). Maybe doing some similar, adjusting judging by taste, and adding adzuki beans could get your desired results? Anyway, good luck. If you figure it out, care to share the recipe? It sounds so delicious~ o3o

Azuki bean frappucchino is the most delicious thing ever! You can order azuki beans from Japan, and perhaps learn to blend your own. But that would take a lot of guesswork..
