   • Enrolled in or attending a private school: a private student.
5. Not holding an official or public position: a private citizen.

The moral of the story? When someone wants a conversation between two people to be private, the other person should heed the request. Else, things may explode out of control, and a small rift between friends may become irreparable.

Let us all take this important lesson with us. I have had to learn this lesson at great pain to myself. It sucks when that happens. Don't let it happen to you.

Hmm...so privates are private because they're personal property? But they may be inteded for public use. It's so HARD when definitions clash, if you know what I mean.
