It seems that there are many new faces popping up throughout the Talaye Meadows and this little mountain goat themed Earth Elemental Talaye is but one of them. He is the first of his kind to appear and, as such, is looking for a special friend to keep an eye out on him... And help him with the problem he's been facing.
What problem is that, you ask? Why, crossing the bridge, of course! On the edge of the Talaye lands there is a bridge crossing a small stream. Afraid to get his hooves wet, this Earthie needs to cross the bridge to get to the Meadows... But there's a problem. A big problem. (GET ON WITH IT ALREADY, SKYE evil )
Okay, okay... So this big problem happens to be a troll that lives under the bridge. This troll likes to try and nomnomnom on all Talaye that cross over the bridge (probably why we've never seen the Earth Elementals before).
Objective
- Write me a paragraph or so (no novels, please @.@) to let me know how the Mountain Goat Talaye makes it over the bridge, or how you're helping them do so. - You may use yourself ICly to help and you may also use other Talaye that you own. - You may only enter once. The most entertaining, creative entry will win the Goat. Winner will be decided by the end of the event (January 24th). - Please only post entries in this thread. If there are any questions ask them in the main event thread linked in this account's signature.

Here's my entry. I hope I did everything right. ^^;
A little mountain goat- I mean- a little earth elemental Talaye that looks like a mountain goat was walking along, planning on going to the Talaye Meadows. But to get there he would have to cross the bridge. That's not too hard, he thought, but as he started to cross, a giant troll leaped out from under the bridge. "RAWR I'M GONNA EAT J00!" it said. Scared for his life, the Talaye shouted, "Look over there, it's Jamie Lynn Spears! And she's PREGNANT!" "What?" the troll said, looking away. "Thas impossible! She's only 15!" Now was the Talaye's chance to cross. But when he started to cross, he noticed the troll's giant club rested across the bridge, blocking his path. "Heeeey," the troll replied when he had looked back to the bridge. "You tricked me!" "Uh uh uh..." the Talaye stalled. Then he said, "Wait here." He ran off somewhere and after about five minutes he came back with a Dagger735. "You can eat this instead of me if you want." The troll thought about it, then said, "I only like Talayes, not human zombie dragons." The Talaye thought about what to do for another minute, then grabbed Dagger's sword of Aegis and swung it at the troll. "Back, back I say!" The troll screamed a high pitched scream and backed away. "No need for violence! You only had to say please!" So the Talaye crossed the bridge and let Dagger follow him as a reward for helping him.

Sparta's dramatic, one and only entry! Yosh! *thumbs up*
One day, Systematic Sparta and her partner Kamushin, came across a little Talaye. It was one she'd never seen before, but the little bugger was adorable. As she came closer, she realized the little one shook with fear.
"What's the matter, little Talaye?" she asked, giving a soothing smile.
The little Talaye glanced up at her with great big amber eyes.
"I can't cross the bridge 'cause there's a scary troll living under the bridge." he sniffed, his little ears flattened back.
Sparta looked to Kamushin who only wagged his tail, a mischievous gleem in his eyes.
"What are you plotting?" she asked the perma pup.
"Come with me and you'll see!" he replied.
With some work, the two had gathered an odd assortment of items. Two of the main items being a 'y' shaped piece of wood and a large rubber band.
"Come here little fella.' Sparta called.
Cautiously, the little Talaye moved to join them. With his help, they put together the slingshot that would get the little Talaye across the bridge.
"Just to be safe however..." Sparta smirked down at Kamushin.
Kamushin's eyes widened and he moved to scramble away, however he was too slow and soon found himself the tester of the sling shot. Pulling back on the rubber band, they let the perma pup fly.
"Aiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeee~!"
Unfortunately, it worked a little too well. Kamushin had over shot the meadows. Sparta looked to the little Talaye, "Back to the drawing boards."
They pondered and planned, but couldn't come up with an sort of idea. Well, nothing that was sure to work. Finally, Sparta was willing to try anything. Digging around in her pocket, she moved toward the bridge.
Finding a coin, she dropped the coin on the bridge.
"Oh no! My coin! Whatever shall I do?" she cried dramatically, a hand moving to cover her mouth.
The troll took the bait, hurrying out from under the bridge to grab the coin. However when he bent down to get the coin he got stuck. Struggling, he tried again and again to right himself and grab himself a meal as well.
"Uhhh... A little help?" he called.
Sparta just couldn't believe their luck! The troll had a crick in his back!
"Woohoo~! C'mon little guy! We're off to the Meadows!" she called happily, and the little Talaye pranced along with her to the other side.
The troll was left to be stuck like that, a warning to any other trolls that might think to make the bridge their home.
On the other side, Sparta finally found Kamushin again. He wasn't a very happy puppy, but soon all was forgiven as they'd gained a new friend.
Back at the bridge the troll still stood, bent over to pick up that ever elusive coin. "Somebody help me please~!" he whined.

That Meadow was so tempting. So so tempting. Beyond the rickety bridge lay a fascinating world of adventure and fun, he just knew it, and all he had to do to join in on the adventures would be to cross the bridge.
But the Talaye also knew of what would happen should he cross that particular bridge. The nasty troll that lurked beneath it had already made off with some of his own unintelligent family members and friends, and the Talaye wasn't about to find himself as being the Troll's next meal.
But he was determined to get across to the other side; he just had to!
The larger male had spent days trying to come up with a clever plan to outwit or outrun the nasty troll. One particular afternoon, after a nice morning rainfall, the idea finally struck him as he continued his regular pacing underneath his favorite tree. As he had been caught so deep in thought over his scheming, he hadn't realized he'd walked directly into a horribly wet mud-puddle!
Being an Earth Elemental, he didn't particularly mind mud, but he wasn't a fan of getting himself muddy, either. But as he stood there, staring at his mud-caked hooves, the idea struck him. Grinning to himself, the Talaye took a leap into the wet puddle, despite his aversions, and began rolling himself around and around in the wet dirty mess.
After a few minutes of his antics, the large being walked out from beneath the tree's shade and into the sunlight, standing very still as he allowed the layers upon layers of caked mud dry into his fur.
This idea just had to work!
Taking a deep, nervous breath, the Talaye made his way onto the bridge. His hooves, now weighed down with the extra weight of mud, made a resounding thud after thud with every step he took.
The troll beneath was quick to hear the familiar trot of a Talaye, and rose from the depths of his dark lair to retrieve his afternoon snack. What he saw, however, was nothing that looked like any Talaye he'd ever seen!
"What kind of creature are you?" the Troll asked, pulling himself over the bridge for a better inspection. It didn't smell like a Talaye either, not with the heavy scent of mud wafting in the air.
"Why, I'm a Mud Monster, of course!" The larger Talaye was quick to reply back, acting as if he'd been offended for not being recognized. "I'm made of mud, I devour mud, and I sleep in mud."
"You're made of mud, you say?" The Troll mused to itself, rubbing its chin with its gnarled fingers. Mud certainly had never tasted good to the Troll, but he had never heard of such a creature before now. But, this creature seemed so much larger than any Talaye he'd ever snatched up before on his bridge, and it did look as if it were made of mud.
Not wanting to waste his time with something he didn't find favorable in flavor, the Troll waved him off. "Go away, you Mud Monster. This is my bridge, and I don't want to see you on it again, dirtying up it's planks!"
The disguised Talaye nodded his head in agreement, and watched as the witless Troll sunk back down to lurk beneath the bridge. Smiling to himself, the relieved creature happily continued his muddy thumping all the way over to the other side of the bridge, happy to have finally reached the Meadow at last.

From the letters his friends sent to him from the Talaye Meadows, the little mountain goat themed Earth Elemental Talaye got very excited. It will be his friend’s birthday soon, and he needs to go across the river to the Meadows to celebrate his friend’s birthday with him. But as many other Earth Elemental animals, the little Talaye don’t like water and the only way to the Meadows is to cross a small stream. There is only one bridge on the stream and there’s a troll living under the bridge. Many Earth Elemental Talayes who tried to cross the bridge have gotten eaten by the troll. So in order to cross the bridge, the little Talaye come up with a plan. He found a lot of flexible tree branches and made it into a Talaye shape basket; he then filled the basket with explosive tree seeds that would explode when it touches acid. He covers the basket with mud and gathered some of his old fur from his cave. The little Talaye then glue all the furs onto the bomb seeds filled Talaye basket and when he’s finished, the basket looked like a true Earth Elemental Talaye. On the day of his crossing, the little Talaye took the basket with him. He pushed the basket onto the bridge and run away to hide behind a tree. Like he expected, the troll came up and swallowed the basket as a whole and one minute later, with a loud bomb sound, the basket exploded in the troll’s stomach and the troll fall of the bridge and dead. The little Talaye waked happily across the bridge and went to his friend’s birthday party in the Meadows. His action of troll killing opened up the bridge to all the other Talayes and was regarded as a hero of the Talayes ever since.

The Earth Elemental Talaye had be trying to figure how to get over the bridge for quite sometime now, sitting under the shade of the trees a little ways away from the river and the troll bridge. He had thought of almost every conceivable way to attempt a crossing, but it usually didn't end well. He was baffled, yet patiently and resolutely kept trying to think of something else that wouldn't end with his end.
Avid was heading over to the Talaye Meadows to check things out and hopefully find a companion of his own. As he drew closer to the bridge, he spotted the horned Talaye sitting in the shade with a look of deep thought on its face. He walked up to it and looked over towards the bridge as that was what it was focusing on then crouched down next to it. "Hey, are you wanting to cross?"
The goat looking Elemental Talaye looked over at the red head then down at his hooves with a sigh and a nod.
"Well, why don't you?"
Gold eyes seemed to focus pointedly under the bridge and, sure enough, the troll was peeking out to see if he had decided to try crossing. It saw that it was spotted and slank back under the bridge.
"Oh, you don't want to deal with that thing. Hm. Well, I can help you cross, if you'd like. I wouldn't mind. Oh, so I'm not a stranger, I'm Avid. Would you like my help?"
The Tala nodded with a hint of relief on his face.
"Well, I could hide you under my robe here and carry you across hidden. How 'bout that?"
Another nod. The Elemental Talaye rose from his sitting position expectantly. With one hand Avid lifted a part of the robe that hung over his shoulder and offered the conceiled arm to him. He hopped up and ducked under the robe, settling into a bundle beneath the large bright drape of fabric.
"Alright. Here we go." Avid stood up and walked as he normally would, up until he was about halfway across the bridge.
The troll popped up and looked around. "Hey! Where'd he go?! I was gonna gobble 'im up!"
Avid played dumb. He felt the Tala tense a little. "Him? Why, I don't know who you are talking about."
"But you were two talking!"
"Oh, him. Only a word or two, then we parted ways. I don't know where he went. But, for your loss, here. You can have it." Avid tossed the troll his lily. The troll caught it and stared at the flower blankly as if unsure what to do with it. It turned the flower around and end over end, looking at it. While the creature was preoccupied Avid siddled around it and quickly got to the other side. Once clear of the bridge, he lifted part of his robe and let the horned Tala down. "There you go."
Golden eyes looked up into gray. "Thank you, Avid."
"Oh, um, you're very welcome." He smiled. "Say, wanna check this place out together?"
"Alright." With that the pair went off, leaving the troll pondering over the lone lily as they took to exploring the Meadows.

Soaking up the sun and trotting along at a lazy but swift pace, the little Talaye soon came upon the fabled bridge. This bridge, it was told, was nigh uncrossable. They say (and they are always right, because they had the story told to them as well) that a nasty, Talaye eating troll lived under the bridge, and that whenever one would get near and try to cross, he'd jump out and gobble the unsuspecting Talaye up.
Never having taken to folk tales, this elemental Talaye decided to air on the side of caution. Waiting until night fall, he crept up to the ditch that the bridge crossed and peaked over its side. Not seeing anything of particular interest, or even particularly frightening, he stood up and walked toward the bridge. The second his tiny hoof hit the wood however, a loud rumble shook the timber. Without thinking, the Talaye darted for the nearest bush and hid there quivering.
"Who goes there?" The voice rumbled. " You smell like food, and it's been days since i've had anything tasty to eat..." The voice shook the tiny Talaye to his core, but being known for the quick wit of almost a rabbit, he smiled and boomed back in his loudest voice. "I AM SNOTBRAIN! MESSENGER OF TROLL KING! I come with message that you do good job. You be rewarded by King." Sitting in the bush, he waited for a reply. It was dark enough that even if the Troll did come up out of the ditch, he wouldn't see the earth toned Talaye, which was very lucky for him.
"Troll King?! I never hear of such thing. You come out and let me see you. Den i know if you be real." Cursing slightly, and filling his lungs again, the elemental belted a message back. "YOU INSULT KING'S MESSENGER? King be very upset. Come take bridge from you." And making big crashing sounds out of the bush, he pretended to be tottering away. Not sure if the troll would take the bait however, he prayed a little to himself. It wasn't a second later however that the troll in the ditch yelled to wait.
"If you true, I sorry. Talaye play tricks. Want cross bridge and not be dinner sometimes. Where king? Want to see him, get reward." Growing a wicked smile, the little elemental began to explain how it was half a mile up the ditch. He would have to go there, find two big rocks, and crash them together three times to let the king know that he was there. He talked up the reward, even mentioning food.
"I no can leave ditch though. Or Talaye gets across! What i do!?" Finally! This was the moment he had waited for. " Why, i watch ditch for you. I eat dem nasty Talayeses, save you some too. Dat my job, dat why i'm messenger. I stay up here though. Hide in bush. They not think i there. think it you under bridge."
Satisfied with the answer, the little Talaye could hear the ogre move off, but not without thanking him so much. With an excited voice, he could be heard mumbling to himself about all the riches he would get for doing such a good job. Once out of hearing, the elemental dashed across the bridge as fast as his little feet could take him. What would the other say when he told them he'd outsmarted the bridge troll?! Not stopping incase the troll came back in anger, he ran on until the sun came up, and then found a comfy tree to rest under. Smiling at his cleverness, he fell asleep, safe on the other side of the bridge, and assured of a good story for his children and grandchildren one day.

The goat Talaye looked down. Ugh water, how nasty to get wet and such on a nice day like today. There is that one bridge, but there is a troll that lives under it...and I'd rather not be a snack... Being a goat did have its advantages though...they were by nature a little crafty, always acting so innocent but really they had humans wrapped around their hooves. So when the Talaye saw a human an idea struck him. He immediately began hobbling about. A concerned girl came up to him.
"Oh you poor dear, are you hurt?"
"Yes" he bleated "and I wanted to go to the other side. But I can't go over there because my hoove is injured and so I can't outrun the troll." He noted the expression of pity on the girls face. "If you carried me he wouldn't hear hooves on the bridge and he might not look for a Talaye..."
She thought about it "but he might smell you...I bet there is another way..."
The troll heard something on his bridge. It didn't sound like hooves but maybe it was tasty...it smelled nice. He crawled out of his bed and looked up on his bridge. It was a human...and an odd one at that. it was wearing a huge coat and had an enormous belly...it must be a female about to give birth. With an unhappy sigh he retreated back to his den.
On the otherside of the bridge Ramen unzipped the coat and the Talaye tumbled out onto the nice green grass. "Ow my back..." She looked at him "you owe me for this."
