Crusnik biology and culture research notes

In the second note book, Xenobiologist and Anthropologist Gast Gangas examines the biological, psychological and cultural aspects of the Crusniks as well as the history of their downfall.
After years of research, he met Abel Nightroad, a test subject from the failed Mars colonization project 900 years ago. The two did had a history with each, seeing that Gast was the only person that treated him, Seth, Cain and Lilith like human beings. Upon meeting Jarem, the Crusnik living within Abel, it seemed that he doesn’t remember anything in his past life. Gast gave him the research notes to see if Jarem could remember.
During the latest 200 year war, he met Jarem’s father, Lord Jericho Crusnik. They talked a lot and gain a lot of new information of the alien race before the Gangas’ took their place.
After finishing the book, he wrote “I would love to thank my friends for all the information I need to finish my quest for answers of Mars’ treasure. I would also thank Jarem, Seire, Lilith, Julene and Jericho for keeping me pushing for the knowledge.”
1. The lost race of Mars
During my years on the red planet, I have found something that made me feel like a young lizard again.
I went to the Shrine of Aries (also known to the human as the Face of Mars) to uncover more artifacts my ancestors left behind. I head off to the lower chambers when suddenly the floor gave way. I fell through the broken floor and into the darkness.
I crash onto something that broke my fall. My lantern broke apart, leaving me in the dark. Thankfully, I had several flares on me and a grappling hook to climb back up. Lighting up my flare, I was shocked of what I found.
In the bowels of the shrine, tombs and artifacts of a missing humanoid race were everywhere! Statues, paintings, holograms, jewelry and lost technology. Coffins littered the huge room, written in Martian.
I also found four coffins, open and the bodies missing. The names were written in each lid: Jarem, Seire, Lilith and Julene.
There was another coffin in the middle of the open ones. Dead flowers littered on the lid. On top of it, is a statue bust of a handsome man with vampire-like features with the words “Jericho, lord of the Crusniks” written on the bust.
Grabbing my note book, I begin writing the things I discovered. Within my notes contains the research notes of the Crusniks, the lost race of Mars.
2. The upraise and downfall of the Crusniks
After looking up the accounts from the ancient books and paintings (and a bit of help of Jericho himself), I pieced together the events of the Crusniks, before and after the fall.
The Crusniks were a vampire race that lived way before the Gangas race took their place. According to the records, winged beings came to Mars when a portal to Hell appeared on the planet. Both the beings and Crusnik joined together to fight the demons and close the gate.
The winged beings were the angels, summon by God to save the Crusniks. The records said that after the battle, an angel and a Crusnik fell in love and became mates, resulting to given birth to the first angelic vampire, the winged Crusnik. The half breeds took over the planet where the wingless Crusniks are very rare.
300 years later, a young man named Jericho took the throne after his father passed away. During his ruling, he met an angel named Utsadiel and fell in love with her. The two got married and had four children.
Then the dark years came when an entity named Katana came to the planet, forever changing the history of Mars. Disguised as a woman from another planet, she came to Mars and asked to learn about their technology.
What the Crusniks didn’t know that Katana is the demonic daughter of Lilith and demon of lust, Asmodeus. Her hatred towards to all races and fears of dying made her into a god complex freak who wants to wipe out life in the universe and replace it with her own brood.
Over the years of learning genetic engineering, she uses her blood and manipulated her DNA so that her clones can change sex and evolve at will. After creating her first clone, she went down to planning to rid her enemies.
The first victim was Lord Jericho, the clone poison his drink and died in his sleep within 24 hours. But before Jericho died, he made his son, Jarem, the lord of the throne.
Seeing the Crusniks as raw genetic material, Katana kidnapped a few and use their DNA to make twisted demonic versions of the great race. Jarem got her red handed and unfortunately, was captured by her before he could alert his people. He was tortured by the demon and was driven mad with anger. He broke his chains and attacked Katana, slicing off her right ring finger.
The fight was long until Katana stabbed him in the heart, killing him. After his death, she and her brood, the Karabites, took over Mars and cause what could the biggest mass genocide ever. After wiping the Crusniks out, the Karabites stole what technology they could get and left the planet.
It’s a very sad history lesson I ever read…
3. Physical Appearance
The Crusniks are winged vampire beings that have lived on Mars before the arrival of Katana. Their features are either handsome or beautiful and reach the heights of 5’4” (female) to 6’0” (male) at adult age.
Crusniks also sport different hair colors from red, black, brown, blond or silver-blond (silver-blonds have been known to be rare and often times to take the throne as the next ruler).
And like the Methuselah, they are also allergic or weak against silver. Unlike the Methuselah, they can walk out in the sun without dying from the UV rays.
The original Crusnik were wingless vampires before the angels appeared. The mating between angel and Crusnik lead to the results of the first half blooded Crusnik. The winged Crusnik were considered as a blessing from the gods. With the wings, they can fly quite easily.
In battle, their eyes glow blood red, nails turning into claws and hair floating in the air. Some have the powers of lighting, sound or psychokinesis.
4. Psychology
The Crusniks are a noble race living in upper or middle classes (lower classes are very rare). Their greatest pleasures are in art, folklores, music, technology, love and sex.
They were once a peaceful race until the demons attacked them. After the battle, the angels taught them the arts of fighting.
There are emotional disturbances amongst the Crusniks, however, generally due to the loss of a mate or family member. A death of mate/family member is so bad that the healers have to come in and ease the griever.
When encountering other races, they take them to their rulers and have to ask what they want. If they want to attack the planet, they will be killed. If they want to help and study, they are greeted with open arms.
The Crusniks never made contact with the primitive Gangas that lived underground in fear of what dangers lurk in the caves.
5. Life span
No one really knows the life span of a Crusnik but according to Jarem (one of the remaining Crusniks); they live up to 900 or to 2,000 years.
Rumors claim they, like angels and demons, are immortal (whatever this is true of not, is still ongoing).
6. Diet
They are omnivores, meaning they both eat meat and vegetables/fruits. But they also drink blood seeing as how they’re vampire beings.
They only drink the blood of a willing donor that is scanned for any blood borne diseases. If disease free, the Crusnik will drink the blood.
To them, the blood is the drink of life and it also deepens their bond to their mate or donor. Sometimes the bond can lead to an out of control addiction.
7. Arts and crafts
The Crusniks are well known for their artistic ability when it comes to the arts. They were responsible for building the pyramid city and the infamous Face of Mars AKA Shrine of Aries.
They also craft stones, flowers, metal, jewels and wood. Teachers help the children the ways of the crafts.
Music is also a major delight of the Crusnik as music expresses their feelings.
Seeing the artifacts back in the underground tomes make me smile to see how well they are with art.
8. Technology
Finding the lost technology of the Crusniks was hard, seeing that Katana and her demonic brood had stolen them. To my surprise, I found some that were left untouched by them.
Seeing the hologram records, a couple of robots and a crystal view finder, it shows they were advanced. They were also advanced in genetic engineering, which was why Katana went to Mars in the first place.
9. Love
Love is a strong emotion between two people. The Crusniks show their affection by wrapping a wing around the person or drinking their blood.
The bond between mates is so strong that when a mate leaves or dies, the other grieves for days, sometimes becoming distressed or depressed until they find a new mate.
Records show that there were same-sex relationships at the time before the genocide. Jericho told me that Crusniks show no discrimination towards same-sex relationships.
10. Rulers
You can’t have a culture without rulers.
In the records, Crusniks with silver-blond hair are marked to be the new ruler of the throne. So far, there have been eight rulers. When the original ruler dies, the members in the family are picked as the new lord or queen.
The lord and queen serve and protect their people from threats and write rules.
11. Religion
The Crusniks have practice religion since the time of the building of the pyramids and shrine. They worship Aries, the god of the solar system and the father of God. They also worship God as well, seeing that he/she/it send the angels to save them from the demons and created the winged race of Crusniks.
The Shrine of Aries was built in honor of the god as well as religious artifacts and statues of him.
12. Sex and mating ritual
Sex is a strong form of bonding between mates, using it as much as a means of communication and bonding as anything else.
They are also an intensely sexual race. A Crusnik sex drive can be relentless if not sated as Jarem once stated to me that he went for a month after his mate left him. The sex drive begins for them when they enter in their mid/late teens or early twenties.
The mating ritual is something I never heard of until Lilith gave me the information about it. The ritual starts when the couple will promise each other that will be by their side ‘til they die and to show their love, they drink each other’s blood and begin the actual sexual activities (sometimes they drink each other’s blood during sex). They leave bite marks on each other to show they belong to each other.
13. Folklore
There is much folklore on Mars but the Crusniks wrote up three interesting stories.
Aries and God: In the beginning, the universe exploded, creating planets, stars and deities. One of the deities was Aries, the six-armed god of the Milky Way galaxy.
Wanting to try out his powers, Aries first created the solar system. All nine of the planets were empty and void of the elements of life. Aries then uses his powers on Mars and Earth to bring life to them. The results were great as the first signs of life started.
Over the years, Aries grew lonely as he watches the planets and wanted company. So using the star dust from parts of the Milky Way and the fires of the sun, he created an entity that is not male or female and takes on many forms.
And Aries gave his child a name: Yew (now known to the humans as God). After creating Yew, he teaches him/her/it how to create creatures and watch over them to see how they do. After that, Aries let Yew to govern Earth while he governs Mars.
The lizard men from underground: The Crusniks have reported seeing primitive lizard-like people in the Martian caves. They don’t know what they are or see them as a threat because some of them were too scared to go into the caves to see.
There has been an encounter when Jericho’s young children, Jarem and Julene went off to the wilderness of Mars and went into one of the caves during a violent rainstorm. While in the cave, Jarem and his sister went deep into the caverns to see if they can find the creatures they heard about. But upon exploring, they bump into a dangerous Arachne, a spider-like demon that somehow appeared on Mars.
Jarem tries to fight it but was taken out fast, knocking him out cold. Before the creature could kill and eat them, the lizard men came with weapons and torches to scare the demon away. While the Arachne was distracted, Julene uses her powers and sends a powerful sound wave at it, turning it into dust. The lizard men help the two back home from one of the many tunnels in the planet. After returning home, Julene and Jarem told the people what happen and told them about the lizard people saving them.
The demon invasion: A very infamous story based on the events on Mars. The tale tells how the Crusniks lived peacefully on their planet until they were attacked by swarms of ugly creatures that rape and murder anything in their path. The people were helpless against the monsters and begged the gods to save them.
Upon getting the prayers, Yew summons the angels to Mars to fight the demons and protect the Crusniks. Seeing they need to know how to fend for themselves, the angels taught them how to fight. It said that it took nearly half a year until the demons were driven off the planet.
14. The nanomachines
After the death of the Crusniks, the Gangas left the caves for the first time and see the aftermath of Katana’s wraith. Seeing all the bodies, they took them to the Shrine of Aries and laid their coffins (and along with their belongings) in the lower levels of the shrine to let them rest in peace.
Many years later, the lizard men rebuilt the cities and start life above ground. They left the old citadel alone, claiming it was hunted. They often go to the shrine and lay the flowers on the coffins of the dead Crusniks (no one knows why for sure).
While building some new technology, they created a new bio-organic nanomachine that bond with the host. Wanting to take it to the next step, they took the blood of four Crusniks and injected it into the nanos, creating the Crusnik nanomachines.
When injected into the body, the subject will have the abilities of those of a Crusnik. To activate it, the subject must verbally or mentally commands the nanomachines by their number and limitation.
Before they could try the nanomachines out, a meteor came and crashed into Mars. What they didn’t know that the meteor carried the Methusis Bacillus, a germ that turns people into vampires.
After leaving the infected on Mars, the escaped nanomachines attacked and drank their blood. It seems that the nanomachines choice of energy is the Methuselah blood.
15. A new future…
Some say that the true living Crusniks are dead and gone but that is not true. As I am writing this, Jarem’s mate is carrying the return of the lost race.
Sarah’s a bit nervous to be a first time mother of twins but with the support of family and friends, she will be a good mother to them.
If things go well, the rebirth of the Crusniks will a be blessing to Aries and Yew.
