Are you heavy on character development? Do you prefer level-grinding? Are you a PK fiend?
Me, I mostly RP. I can be an IC-Nazi (most of the time ^^ wink . I never was savvy enough for PK, I've capped out my levels, and frankly, working on leftover skills, collecting items for special stuff, or questing to afford another house deed is in-between-times stuff.

Overall, I play more for the politics of a MUD nowadays. Since my primary MUD is highly active (no less than 20 people online at any given time), MUD economics, social trees, and politics can get to be rather complex. I find myself immersing into such complexities almost every time I log on.
Also, I am an elder of a prominent clan, so I also try to keep it united, running smoothly, and active. Usually this just involves talking on our clan-specific channel and cracking a few jokes here and there.
In terms of character development, well, heh. When I was developing Jalin, my primary concern was learning as many spells as she could and getting the equipment with extra cast levels to learn more. When it came to soloing, she blasted her way through everything. In groups, she eventually found her niche as a healer, letting the sweaty men take care of all the grunt work, only stepping in when things needed a little bit of a woman's fiery touch.

I play for the social aspect. I enjoy rping, but I've moved to neverwinter for that anymore it seems, mostly because I luff dnd.
Back in my immortal days I actually primarily played to level grind and pk, shame on me. Something very grutural and satisfying about taking an IC contract and rping out a murder. Especially if your a ninja.
But the mud I'm on nooow, I mostly just like to chat. I rp a bit, grind a bit, talk constantly.

The social aspect is fun. However, I somehow go timid whenever I first meet a person on a MUD. I think it's because the other person has been playing longer than I have, and being an idiot, I feel embarrassed whenever I need to ask a simple question (Like how to get to places that I've already visited countless times before.)
Pixeliciousness, D&D is awesome. >_>' *plays Neverwinter games as well*
Most of the time, I go and level grind a bit. Except I somehow wind up becoming distracted due to things going on in the house. I swear, my mother has a 6th sense in knowing when I'm idle.

Much like how people only want to come and bother you when you have headphones on? I get that one all the time.

I'm a big fan of people getting angry you don't hear them when your wearing headphones. I wear skull candies, those things are huge and pretty hard to miss.
