It's almost a nightly thing, the disagreements between my father and me. He's a Republican and I'm a Democrat... and generally, I'm right and he's wrong.
Tonight, it was the Dixie Chicks.
You remember that deal back in 2003 with the Dixie Chicks, where they made an anti-war statement in another country and then we all started boycotting them. Well, he talks crap about the Dixie Chicks and whined that they made that statement in Paris. And everyone knows it was in London, and he's just saying that because he still hates France for not wanting us to go into Iraq. Frankly, I'm sick of him doing this. He essentially makes up falsities and insists that he is right, even when everyone knows he's wrong. Not to mention he always insists this, and he always says, "Oh the Dixie Chicks had to insult us in France!" and it just pisses me off. I am sick of him insisting that his lies are truth.
I finally bet my dad $100 that I was right. If it was in France, I would give him $100, if it was in London, he gives me $100. So, I left the table, got my laptop, and pulled up two articles that clearly said that the Dixie Chicks' leader, Natalie Maines, made her controversial statement in LONDON.
He said, "Oh, I don't believe that, it's not true, they said it in France, I know they said it in France!"
Great, I present the ******** with truth and he isn't going to believe it.
He's delusional, he's full of s**t, and he owes me $100!

Well, about the political stuff... I'm not going to get into that... but facts are facts, and he's wrong... o_o

BUT SERISLEY. Ya, he is wrong and neads to coff up, but stuberness sucks kinda hard, kinda very hard, expecialy when its something that may root back to political roots.
Like when me and my parents got into a fight the other day cuz my mom said "Obama doesent have a chanse in hell cuz heas black" And I kinda got realy pissed and sprouted angry facts about his aproval rates being higher then the saint mr bush's during most of this year and how he won IOWA. COME ON. EVEN IOWA LIKES HIM.

I'm kind of faintly conservative and Democrat. And if anyone says that that's an oxymoron, I'mma have to flame some n00bz. D:<
My dad's kinda the same way, cept not such a jackass. He hates the Dixie Chicks too, and because of that I hated them for a while because his was the only argument I heard, but now I don't care. I just think it's ******** stupid to stop listening to a band you like because of political s**t. If you think that their music is good, what do you care about their personality?
Hope you get the hundred bucks... Add interest for asshattery >.>

But isn't that the point of being a dad? Being single minded to an irritating state?
Like my dad is CERTAIN that the "fags are going to drive this world to hell". And it's like "why?" and he's all "they're going to decrease the population and we'll never be able to advance" and we're all "yeah, because UNDER population is the current problem in the world dad".

I told him to go on his own computer and find one article that proved me wrong. But he's just a d**k. The really sad part is, we do this all the time. Like when he said Barack Obama was Muslim. 9_9 God. If he kept suggesting $100 bets, I could get a ******** PSP.

Oh man, Ezzy... the other day my mom said that she was going to get one of those markers to write on car windows and write "Barack Obama is a muslim!" on her car... and of course she brought up the "he won't pledge allegiance" argument. I told her that if she did that I would bike to and from school, and if she does then that's just what I'll do. Freezing weather or not. x_x
Wow... I'm sorry about your dad's skewed political viewpoint. I should start bringing up the 100-dollar bet with people... >.>

Everyone here knows that, despite his name, Barack Obama isn't a Muslim, right? He's actually Christian, and he actually made his name giving a passionate speech about the role of religion (read: Judeo-Christian values) in modern life. The sad part is, he brought up the bet. I just agreed to it, because I knew I was right. Now I want some ******** video games.

Ugh. My grandpa's like that. He insists that we should just nuke all of Asia and the middle East, because it would solve all our problems. But, the place he hates the most is... *drumroll*
Japan. He hates Japan, and anything to do with it. Sure, he was in a war that involved it, but some of the things he says just can't be chalked up to PTSD.
For instance, he won't eat rice. Why? "Because the goddamn Japs eat it". He should know many cultures eat rice, besides the Japanese. He also complains about how the Japanese have no rule against female nipples on television, despite the fact that America's the only place that has a rule against that, that I know of.
Once, when he was all "Nuke the Japanese! They're bastards for what they did in World War II!" ( I think it was World War II), I asked why the Japanese should pay for something their ancestors did. He then ventured into a long rant, containing the above, about how horrible the Japanese are for World War II, and many other silliness.
As someone who likes anime, and knows quite a bit about Japanese culture (though, I'm not one of those people who want to be Japanese as possible), I understandably got annoyed. XD
Well, people like that suck. But they exist, and they won't change. I honestly don't know what could be done. But, he should give you the money, because it he owes it to you.
