Yep. It's in the options. You can make the game easier or harder to varying degrees.
Yeah. but I never touched it... and blew through the 360 version.... now I jave to do it 6 or 7 times....xD
The annoying thing is that I just found out about a few months ago, and before that I was stuck in the painting level and cannot get out so I deleted that file. But if I knew that I could change the difficulty settings, I could have easily gotten out.
