When you say "symphony orchestra", do you mean full instrumentation (winds, percussion, strings)? Or just string orchestra? I'm just curious, because where I come from, we only mix the band instruments with orchestra only for SPECIAL occasions (like Senior Regional and All State).
About your festival, what are you playing? What's its grade? What makes you think that you won't perform to a I standard? What can you do to fix it?
