Mbali was returning from his wanderings for a 2nd time, still he didn't expect to see the lioness who had stolen his heart. It was confusing how such a thing could have even happened being the way that he had been treated by her but none the less she had caught his heart and now she had gone. He had tried all he could to move on and find someone else, so many pretty females but none was like Bari and how could they?

He moved back into the pridelands and came to rest on a rock near the water. He laid himself out on it, staring down at his reflection. Why was it such a cruel and harsh female could have such an effect on him? Oh how he missed her. Her wonderful eyes that use to stare at him as if it did not matter that he existed. Yes he loved her, he couldn't help it.

A mocha color female was doing her duty to the pride, and patrolling the lands. Well...Patrolling was more of an understament...seeing as she just sat under a tree and pretended to be watching one of the entrances of the lands. She snorted. "A princess doesn't need to be /patrolling/" she growled, ears flickering has her teal eyes flickered up to the sun. "Onlly a few more hours until the sun begins its set." She said sullenly. THat meant she had to wait her until then. Perhaps if she actually oved it would be time consuming?

Things didn't seem to get interesting until a familiar white male with chocolate markings had appeared. She snorted, grinning mischeviously as to have to fun. "Last time I checked, you weren't suppose to be here." Bari normal snarky attitude popped up.

Mbali looked up at the sound of a familiar voice, "Bari?" He turned to look at her and held back the huge grin that would have consumed his face. He hadnt seen her, she hadn't been here, had she? He was confused there was no doubt about that.

"Where have you been?"

Bari shrugged. "I've been here. Maybe away from you and those pesky little /things/" she meant the cubs, who had already grown up, "but I've been here." Her stealy eyes then gazed harshly at the white male. "The question is, Mbali my /dear/" sarcasm, " where have /you/ been? Gallavanting with some lioness? I can smell others all on you." She sneered, tail lashing out behind her.

Bari stared at her. "Those /things/ have grown up and left now. Though yet you did not come back." He looked at her and then looked away. "I have other friends you know, I didn't cheat on you even though you left us."

Bari shrugged. "Oh whine and complain about it why don't you." The mocha female rolled her eyes. "It's not /my/ fault you couldn't use your damn nose to follow scents that I was near the western river, down south." How she said it made her sound like it was so obvious where she was. "It's /your/ fault for not coming to look for me, if you really truelly wanted to see me." She snorted.

Why did he love her? Could someone remind him? He held back the growl that wanted to escape.

"You think I didn't look for you? You don't think I went all the way back to the Pridelands to see if you were there?" He tried to keep his voice calm but he couldn't, it had gone too far. He took a deep breath to help calm himself down and then looked at her.

"You know I love you Bari and once you showed you loved me to, just the once." He looked away again, there was little point in trying to fight with her, he never won. She had her funny turns and once in a blue moon she would be affectionate. Oh well, maybe she did leave him for good? Maybe she didn't? He didn't know, how confusing this all was!
