I have just recently bought WoW, and i was wondering if you NEED BC to play, or could you just buy that later?

If you want to play past level 60 you will need to purchase the Burning Crusade expansion.

Or if you want to play as a blood elf or draenei, or use their cities/zones, same goes for outland. Also to play eye of the storm (because you need to be 61).

If you don't want to be a giant blue space cow or an elf, just skip the expansion until your 60 and you need it. It's not a big deal, really.
