This is mainly for brass players..I'm not sure if woodwinds have this problem. How long does your lip last? What does it depend on for you? The type of notes you're playing or the length of time you're playing or the volume you're playing at?
Mine lasts for around 3 hours if I'm not leading the section and the notes are towards the middle of my range. However if I am leading and have to play louder and the notes are at the top of my range I can only last for an hour or so...so long as I have breaks.
The funny thing is that my stamina doesn't seem to improve the more I play and practise. How do you imrpove your stamina?

okay... some woodwinds, *cough*clarinets*cough* have stamina issues like that. esp. during marching band and band camp and such. your embouchure gets /majorly/ tired after a while. the louder you play, the higher the notes, whatever... but the more you practice, your endurance seems to get better...

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes with my saxophone. Like, I can't keep my lips tight, so air starts to escape, and it feels (and sounds) really weird.
