I am in the middle of writing my first fan fiction and need tips and questions answered. Would you kindly help me? My Question: How long should a chapter be? If I have anymore questions, I will be sure to post them.

Well, if you want it to be standard for an official fanfiction site, then you'd want at least 1000 words per chapter. I know that some have less, but if you want to impress I would say 1000-1500 at the bare minimum.

Well, a chapter should be long enough that you feel you've included all of the information required for the next chapter. I generally shoot for about 1500-2000 words in an original, but in fanfiction I just write and the chapter is done when I feel it is done (note how short they are in Tom & Minnie

Whenever I wirte fanfiction, I always a few tools withing reach. Particularly a Thesaurus, a Word Program, and my Brain. I also like to have someone nearby to bounce ideas off of in case I need a second opinion on an idea I'm not sure about. Lastly (and this is just me personally, so read this or not, I don't care) I try to go into as much detail as possible without being redundant. For example, you could say "The wind whipped through the trees", or, to make it a little more dramatic, you could say, "A light, wispy breeze rustled the leaves in the treetops above, making it seem as if it were speaking to the girl/boy". Of course, what adjectives you use is completely dependant on what kind of a scene you are trying to set. You wouldn't use that example if you were writing a horror story.
Hope that helps! If it didn't, I'm sorry to have wasted your time.

surprised I write short chapters. ><
Anywho,
Me? I have a whiteboard. This way, I can do any sort of creative ideas on it, without having to commit. I also find that it's useful for timelines.
[Timelines are essential for accuracy, I've found. Too many people make needless mistakes.]
