I first got my KH-202 because I saw Richard from Rammstein playing it. I got it and loved it. I grew to love Metallica and loved it even more. THen about 2 years later (A few months ago) I got a Dean ML X and a string broke on my KH. I played with the Dean and missed the KH greatly. Then I got some strings and had a parade with the Kirk. but it didn't take long to relise that the Dean was the better guitar.
It sounds better
Longer sustain
Flat, more comfortable, FASTER neck
And with no Whammy bar it's far easier to change the tune (Which I do a lot of)
The only upsides to the KH I can figure are that it's easier to sit with and "Hey! Is that a Kirk Hammett guitar??"

I payed 500 American dollars for the Kirk and 180 for the Dean.

What have I done and what should I do?

Give the Kirk to me! Nah, just kidding. You could use one as your standard tuned guitar (eadgbe) and the other as an alternate tuned guitar. I had a strat copy and then got a Les Paul (Gibson). I use the Paul for most stuff but use the strat for alternate tunings. That way I don't wear out the Paul and it stays in tune better.

I tried that but it's so hard when the dean is right there and it's so easy to change it.

dont be mad that the first thought to pop into my head was "could've ahd a PS3" xD

but yeah, just use them for different tunings suited tosound. I have a $300 dean michael schenker STD

and i also have a$300 Kramer imperial FR-404 S. the kramer can handle thelower tones with the grit i need, so in my band i keep it in in drop tunings, and when using the dean i play in standard.

(well, starndard-half-step down, but you get the idea)

i actually like kramers so much i might pick me up a Vanguard later on.

If by PS3 you mean Playstation and not some guitar called PS3, then I wouldn't have done that anyway. The PS3 is prone to overheating. Have you held one? They are so heavy because the fans inside to keep it cool, not like it works. And we all should know that there will be a newer model in a year thats smaller, more efficient, and cheeper. But I'm not hear to talk about Playstation xd

I'll just keep the Kirk in E. When I get more money I'll get a better amp and some pedals and cover it with effects.

Don't sell that Dean man, in my opinion they have the best necks out of all guitar makers. Kirk is the reason I picked up a guitar but I would totally buy any Dean over an ESP LTD
