Story Updates

Holy Empire
- + - The Arcane Inquisition continues strongly as more and more Non-White Mages and Necromancers are found and publicly executed. This type of persecution has angered Vidal, but neither nation has made any open declaration of war. Emperor Caevat continues to urge the acquisition of more Paladins, Clerics, and White Mages for what he predicts is an imminent and inescapable war. Worried about the military might of Galifar, he has sent a large portion of his army to defend and patrol the border between them. It looks like he may be moving on the offensive soon... - + -
Lhazaar
- + - Pirate activity has increased in the last month. Stories of cities and towns being plundered and razed are becoming commonplace, quite to the dismay of the King. To counteract this, the "Edict of Service" has been enacted. All able-bodied men are being required to serve for a minimum of one year in the Merchant Marine. Resistors are jailed or executed for treason or supporting anarchy. - + -
Galifar
- + - Galifar is seeing some internal conflict with the sudden sickness of its King. Questions have arisen concerning Darken, his son, and the boy's parentage; is the Queen his true mother, or are the rumors about Alexandra Nightson the ultimate reality? To make matters worse, the Empire has amassed much of its army along the border between them. To ensure no attack occurs, Galifar has also sent some of its military there. - + -
Vidal
- + - Vidal, after being nearly decimated in the War of Succession, is now a place of back room deals and underground entertainment. Ruled by the totalitarian Regent Protector, laws concerning the birth of Mages are very strict. While the poverty and corruption are typical of Vidal, several members of House Nightson disagree with the actions of Lady Alexandra and are keen to have her replaced. Otherwise, conflict in this country is limited only to the typical horrors one might see.

Our Story So Far In Lhazaar: Day One Caelan Moloch and his wolf companion Conall take shelter from a storm in the Golden Sail, and meet up with Audania Inarel, a healer from up river. They are joined by Wullf Maximas, a mercenary and pirate hunter Captain looking for recruits who convinces the pair to join his crew, and Sonya Rolaud, who's motives remain unclear. Day Two Caelan and Wullf find themselves in a bar brawl, with Sonya instigating more trouble between them. Caelan goes to Audania for healing, and Sonya proceeds to cause a commotion and runs off with Audania's pack. After escaping from the Golden Sail, she prepares to jump ship out of Regalport. In Galifar: Day One Mina Starchylde reaches Pegasi and makes contact with a friend of her fathers. Judeau Eisenheim encounters Mina at the Lantern light Inn, and the two converse. Presently another man enters the tavern, one Andris Maerens. Andris and Judeau share a sparing match later in the evening, while Mina goes about her business in the city. Later that evening, Mina is followed back to the tavern by spies from Vidal sent to retrieve her. Andris intervenes, and the two escape and take refuge in a homeless shelter in the city. They procure passage out of Pegasi with the help of Spymaster Echadean Czendu. Day Two Grath and Lira reach the gates of Pegasi, but their uneasy truce is broken and combat ensues. Grath heads into the city, with Lira in hot pursuit. Andris and Mina flee Pegasi on horseback, stopping at a waystation overnight. In Vidal: Day One Mina Starchylde escapes the Academy of Sorcere, and is confronted by Grath Nevanda , who steals a piece of her soul, enabling him to track her. Mina reaches the Glaifar border by nightfall. Grath, sensing that something is amiss with his new capture, procures the help of Lira Trival , and the two head for Pegasi in Glaifar. Day two Ro Terra, Pirate Captain and member of the Mystwalker Clan, arrives in Baulder's Keep and is given specific orders that come from The Dark Lady herself. He heads for Lhazzar.

::Our story as of April 12, 2008.:: :In Lhazzar: Ilon Nightson (aka Shuyel Yijeni) and Kravus Cannith, (aka Black Cannith) pirates on the ship Rennais’ Cutlass, lay anchor in Regalport and begin the scout the city in search of supplies, drink, and the unsuspecting and gullible. Anniane Deneith (aka Nin) arrives at Mrs Hong's tailor shop in dire need of a new set of cloths. Wullf arrives in search of stitching thread and the two are introduced, much to Mrs. Hong's delight, and Nin's chagrin. Sonya walks in unexpectedly, eliciting a good deal of rage from Wullf, who still remembers her antics at the Golden Sail. Her memory however, has gone conveniently blank. With some coaxing, he decides to allow the girl to leave. It is decided that Nin should accompany Wullf to meet his companions while Mrs. Hong finishes their respective garments, and the pair make their way back to the Golden Sail. Back at the Golden Sail, Audania attempts to circumvent the curse on Calen's back and heal the grievous wounds he received in the brawl the night before. Menwhile, Sonya wanders the docks in search of a ship out of Regalport. She encounters Cannith and Shyel and enquires about possible passage on their ship. Sonya heads back to the Golden Sail to cause a bit more trouble and to prepare for what she assumes is her safe passage out of Regalport. The pirates, however, have other things in mind... :In Vidal: Shinsei Akari carries out his dark duties to the Reagent Protector. Assassin Artisn Vadal obtains a much coveted contract from none other than Reagent Alexandra herself, and heads into Galifar in search of his prey. :In Galifar: Mina and Andris wake to an unpleasant surprise; a black mage from Vidal sent to retrieve young Mina. Andris dispatches the woman, but it is not long before Artisn makes his own attempt at Mina's life. He flees from the waystation, and Andris and Mina make haste to the Lhazaar border. Meanwhile, Lira loses sight of Grath, and seeks the assistance of a sinister Vidalan Woman in Pegasi. After obtaining the information she needs, she heads out in search of Mina and her unknown companion.

::Our story as of April 20, 2008:: In Galifar: Lira continues her search for the girl and her companion. Mina and Andris arrive in Patria, Andris's hometown, which was decimated by a plague several years ago. Unbeknownst to them, Artisan has taken up residence in the inn in town. It may be only a matter of time before they cross paths again... In Lhazaar: Wulff and Nin arrive back at the Golden sail and Wulff intorduces her to the others. Nin agrees to Join Wulff's crew. Sonya breaks into the storage room of the Golden Sail and spies on the room below. Shuyel and Black Cannith enter the Golden Sail. Their arrival does not go unnoticed by Wulff and his companions, who Shuyel keeps a close eye on. Shuyel casts a dark spell over the tavern, causing the patrons who have had alcohol to bicker like madmen. Sonya's eavesdropping comes to an abrupt end when a hole breaks in the floor she is standing on, revealing her presence to the surprised patrons below. Dren enters the tavern, and attempts to save Audania from injury from the falling ceiling. As the violence in the bar escalates, Wulff, Nin, Audania and Caelan leave the tavern. Dren remains behind to see if he can be of any assistance to Sonya, who drops to the ground and dashes out before any introductions can be made. Shuyel Intensifies his spell over the tavern, and the violence escalates into an all out bloodbath.

::Our story as of April 26, 2008:: In Galifar: Andris instructs Mina in the fine art of sword-fighting, and the truth about Andris's Past finally comes out. It is a rough night for Artisn. Dark dreams haunt him in his sleep, and he wakes seriously wounded. In Lhazaar: Audania and Caelan set out in search of the Temple of Aquain in Regalport, Nin and Wulff head back to the ship, and on the way run into Silvur, Wulff's first mate. Sonya returns to Mrs. Hong's shop and picks up her new clothes. She arrives at the port to await the return of Cannith and Shuyel.

:: Our story as of May 10, 2008:: In Lhazaar: Nin and Wulff return to Mrs. Hong's tailor shop to pick up Wulff's clothes. Mrs. Hong has a surprise waiting for Nin too; a new harp. After expressing their gratitude, the pair head for Wulff's ship. In Galifar: Mina and Andris rent rooms in the inn, unaware that Artisn has already take up residency there. Artisn awakes and, hearing voices in the hallway, he flees into what will become Andris's room. Andris is haunted by dark visions, that soon become frighteningly real. On coming to, he discovers Artisn and the two are introduced. Both Artisn and Andris faint unexpectedly, leaving Mina to take care of coving up the situation. Mina discovers Andrs's pendant at his family home; However, she perceives the pendant much differently than he does. She decides to keep her discover a secret.

::Our story as of May 30, 2008:: In Lhazaar: The pirates Cannith and Shuyel head back to their ship with new recruits in tow. There they meet up with Belladonna , their lovely but deadly accomplice. Caelan leads Audania to the temple of Aquain, and Nin and Wulff encounter a suspicious marine in need of assistance. In Galifar: Andris, Artisn and Mina start out from Patria on their way to Byzan. Along the way the are ambushed by Alexandra's mage hounds, and the ensuing battle leaves the trio broken and battered in the road.

::Our story as of June 15, 2008:: In the Holy Empire: Druid Ronyo Storm sets out for The Holy Empire with the blessing of the Druid Council, in hopes that he can convince the Imperials to stop their inquisition. Along the way he stops by to see his friend Rayne Morningstar , a hunter who lives in the forest. In Soulkeep, Hazel Kirsch keeps nighttime vigil over the city. She is pleasantly surprised when she is joined by an old friend. In Lhazaar: Nin and Wulff's new acquaintance turns out to be none other than Vidalan Pirate Captain Ro Terra, to whom Nin gives the cold shoulder, quite literally. The name Wulff Maximas is not unknown to Captian Terra either. The discovery leaves the two pirates each in wary suspicion of the other. Audania and Caelan arrive at the Temple of Aquain and Danny is able to obtain a new medical manual. The pair head back to join the others at Wulff's ship. In Galifar: After the roadside battle, Andris reluctantly puts his horse down. Artisn is able to heal Mina's horse, but Mina keeps her own grevious injures to herself. Battered and dejected , the three make their way to the Golden Court.

::Our story as of July 13, 2008:: In the Holy Empire: After checking all her traps, Rayne accompanies Ronyo on his way to the Holy Empire to deliver his message to the Imperials. Inquisitor Invernus is interrogation a new capture, when he is interrupted with the news that he has a new "assistant", Cordellia Aridaine . He sees the new help as more of a nuisance than a blessing, and decides to keep an eye on her. Hazel Kirsch meets John Corvair in the sanctuary after her vigil is over, and John invites her to a luncheon he is holding at his home later that day. Upon her arrival at his home, John informs Hazel of his desire for her to join the Arcane Inquisition. In Lhazaar: Bella delivers the fruits of her information gathering to Captain Cannith, while another member of the crew, Cecilia Corvair, keeps watch from the docks. Audania and Caelan take a stroll along the shore before arriving at Wulff's ship. Captian Ro Terra Gives Wulff a mysterious letter before they part. The two men say their goodbyes and Wulff and Nin head back to the ship. In Galifar: Ona runs into trouble in the Pegasi stables on her way to Sacea to deliver a message from the Druid Council. Relicta Maerens comes to her assistance, seeing their meeting as a sign from the Gods that the two should travel together. They start out for the Golden Court of Sacea. In Sacea: Seraphina Vidalis arrives at the golden court and sets about gathering information. She is spotted by Ilias Murdock, who views her presence as suspicious, and follows her into the city. Mina, Andris and Artisn reach the Golden Court of Sacea late in the day. They head to the Golden Goblet Inn and Tavern, where they notice a mysterious woman (Seraphina Vidalis ) seated in one of the corner tables.

::Our story as of Aug 10, 2008:: In the Holy Empire: Rayne and Ronyo arrive in the city of Soulkeep. Unbeknownst to them, their presence has been reported to higher authorities. Inquisitor Invernus sends Arkest to plant a "test" in Dellia's room while she is out. After being informed of Rayne and Ronyo's presence in the city, he arranges to have an audience with the strange new arrivals. Dellia stumbles upon Hazel's going away party, and the two are introduced. In Lhazaar: Audania, Caelan, Wulff and Nin reach the ship, where Wulff introduces to the crew. Wulff gives out jobs to the new crew members, and the Fang of Lhazaar sets out to sea. Out of viewing rang of the Fang, Szalaban sets off from the shore and trails the ship from a distance. In Galifar: Ona and Relicta reach the waystation before sunset. In Sacea: Artisn wakes to discover a strange man downstairs that insists he must speak with the group. After telling them about Andris's true nature, and an altercation that leaves Andris unconscious, the man suddenly disappears. Before they have time to take Andris upstairs, a member of the black guard enters the inn searching for Mina. He peruses the group upstairs where he introduces himself as Onaga Crystalash, and claims his intent is the help, not to harm them.

Golden Court of Sacea:
An attack was made on the lives of all four regional leaders of Alvirad; The Emperor of the Holy Empire was killed in the attack while the other three leaders survived and departed post-haste to their capitals.
Lhazaar:
In all major cities, a full military alert was announced for the Army and Marine, but no enemy has yet been declared.
