Has anybody noticed that the very first chapter seemed to be draw rather differently than the others? Is it just me or is there a reason to why the art style switches back to being more similar to love hina?

Yes, I've gone back before and compared art styles. For one, I think it's not similar to the old style of Love Hina, it's pretty different [if you compare the expressions and quality]; I think if you compare vol. 1 & 2 of MSN, you can see some changes already. At the beginning of MSN, it seemed like Akamatsu had improved his style over that one year break. As he got used to drawing 31+ characters [mainly girls] his style molded into the one you see now.

Aye, but Konoka looks cuter in the first book with all those "Huh?" expressions. ^^ She's so adorable ^^

...You mean the expression that Setsuna has in my sig? xd
But yeah, I've noticed how different the art is in the first chapter. And is it just me, or did Fei Ku seem... smaller in earlier chapter?

Ken Akamatsu hasn't drawn as good as the first 5 pages of Vol. 1 ever since but it's still good, don't think anybody could top that anymore . . . Maybe I could one day lol!

As an artist, we artists have a little trouble re-adapting to the style we want to run with. Ken simply took one year break and i'm suprirsed everyone in here forgot that fact. Ken took a one year break between the conclusion of Love Hina and the begining of Negima. Of course Ken would sketch here and there but trying to do illustrations and draw consecutively is a hard job. Like Ken, i improve as i go and that just what Ken did between Volume 1-6 of Negima. When theres a break as long as the one Ken took, there will always be something missing and you have to practice to get back into that rhythm. This is why a lot of people who draw give up and think they suck at drawing. Well that's just failure talk and if everyone had a good teacher they would be a success in art. Sorry to say but i didn't take any art school or go to a special class to get can control for the aerosol i use. I was born with the talent of drawing ever since i first started drawing my first sketches of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. The aerosol didn't start until recently in 2000. I sucked, yeah but it took me less then 5 years to get can control and be as good as i am.
Practice is just the key to success. Everyone should remember that.

That should be in the "Book of Famous Quotes", if that book exists. ^^ Practicing sure takes a lot out of you though. There's just sometimes I can just fall asleep just by looking at a pencil XD

The begining is VERY similar to Love Hina, but I think that might be because he drew Love Hina, but I think he's improved alot from it. He just gets better and better with time ^_____^.
