Well i know for a fact that the japanese schools start on april...
and consists of three terms, separated by holidays in spring and winter, and a one month long summer break.
Well... thats all I know...
The first term is from like...april to mid july... The exact date of the beginning of the summer break vary across regions, but commonly the break lasts for about one or two months.
A second term lasts from early September to late December with a winter break at the end of the year. The term is followed by a third term from early January to early March and a brief spring break lasting several weeks.
The graduation ceremony occurs in March, and the enrollment ceremony in early April.

Hope this isn't very confusing ^_^, i tried Dx.

I have heard that japanese schools are very difficult, well not all, but most of them.

Like you said it all depends on the school and they are very open to whether or not they are a good school. The high school im currently going to is a pretty low intelligence all boys high school. So basically half the class sleeps and the other half isnt paying attention. You'll have maybe 5-7 people paying attention. But there are a lot of harder schools too.
