HAR HAR@TITLE.
Beach setting yo.
---

A petite blue figure was sprawled out in the soft sand as the water would come up and tickle her dainty paws. Today was one of those lazy days, where the weather was just so nice, all you could do was simply lay down and enjoy it. Half closed blue eyes looked ahead in a sleepy manner as Faye counted how many seashells she could see on the surface of the silky beach sand. Her tail swished back and forth gently, flicking up a small, glimmering curtain of sand each time.

A soft, salty breeze ruffled her light blue fur as Faye closed her eyes. The sound of the waves and the feel of sand beneath her was rather relaxing. The only thing that bothered Faye was the sunlight. Normally, she didn't mind sunlight, especially if it was just the sun's warm glow she was basking in. But today, oh no. The sun was shining brightly and practically baking the poor girl alive.

I ought to go for a swim... but the sand, it feels so nice between my paws... oh but the water! It's so cool and calls to me so. Yet, I don't feel like standing up... But I'd surely cool off if I dove into that crystal clear ocean water that calls to me ever so softly~ And there in the water, I could easily hide from the sun beneath the surface...

Faye let out a soft and slightly frustrated sigh as she continued to debate whether or not to hop into the ocean. She slowly sat up and stared at the water in an intense manner as the sun smiled down on her evilly.

After several minutes, Faye finally decided to just jump into the water. She'd cool down, get some exercise, then hop back out, and let the scorching sun dry her off as she sun bathed peacefully. Standing up, Faye gently shook the sand out of her silky fur and elegantly trotted into the water.

Aaaah... perfect weather... Blaze inhaled the fresh air, tail wagging happily as he trotted along the shore. He loved the sun and everything about it. Heck, he lived by the sun. Rainy and cloudy weather meant staying in sheltered areas and sulking the hours away. Days such as this meant adventuring, and the red-orange Ulaya wasn't going to miss out on a good discovery. Though... why he was at the beach today, he had no clue whatsoever.

He stopped abruptly in the sand, ears perking up in alarm. Wait... why did I come here? he thought, rather flustered. He stood stock still, racking his brains for an answer to this seemingly mind-boggling problem. Don't panic...don't panic... His eyes darted back and forth, trying to find something, anything, that would refresh his memory.

Blaze's eyes locked suddenly on an object that was mostly buried in the sand. There was only a small corner of it jutting out, its dull surface and coloring making it almost invisible to the unsuspecting eye. But he knew exactly what it was. A clam shell! That's it! I came here to dig for clams. His tail resumed its happy wagging as he imagined the delicious lunch he was about to have.

He grinned to himself as he quickly bounded over to the object of his attention and proceeded to dislodge it from its protective barrier.

Faye hummed happily as the cool water washed over her. Letting out a peaceful sigh, she continued to hum softly as she went deeper and depper into the cool blue water. Now this was the perfect way to spend a day like this! Who in their right mind would want to sit out and enjoy the hot, blistering sun? She chuckled at the thought and rolled her eyes, feeling a little awkward for laughing at herself like this.

The happy tune quickly turned into a loud splash as Faye jumped back in surprise. She had stepped a rock. A very lumpy and probably disgustingly gray rock. Frowning slightly, she turned to a different direction only to step on yet another rock.

Flailing around helplessly, Faye tried to find a path that didn't include her shredding up her poor paws on lumpy little rocks. She should've picked a different section of beach. Drat, perhaps I should've stayed on the shore... I'd rather melt than step on a zillion rocks. Hm. This part of the beach is so lumpy and shallow!

Faye pouted to herself as she looked down through the water, spotting little black, wiggly shapes on the ground. She began to walk forward slowly, concentrating on the ground intensely, "Ha! No rocks can stop Faye from swimming~"

Eventually the water rose as she went farther and farther away from shore. Now that the cool water was just under her chin, Faye began to paddle along happily. She continued her little tune and she glided through the water elegantly and joyously. Suddenly stopping, the blue female looked ahead with interest. A large, reddish figure on the shore caught Faye's eye as she was meandering along peacefully. Oh? Did a chunk of the sun fall down to my watery heaven? A look of horror was plastered across Faye's face as she squinted slightly. The blue Ulaya had excellant eye sight underwater, but above the water's surface...not so much. I see the games you're playing with me! She hissed mentally at the shining sun, Sending down a blazing....thingy to smite me. Bah. Ho ho, can't get me in the water now can you?

Faye had always believed in gods and goddesses and any other deities of the sort, however, she sometimes took her beliefs to an oddly extreme manner. Gliding closer to shore, she kept her sapphire eyes locked on the red figure.

"What's this?" To her slight surprise, the shape was only another Ulaya rather than the flaming blob that she had originally believed him to be.

Blaze was currently trying his very best to unearth the clam he had discovered. He grunted as he clamped down on the visible shell and tugged furiously. Urghh... this one's really stuck... he thought sadly. He spat out a bit of sand and blinked owlishly at the buried clam for a moment. What to do...what to do... Tilting his head a bit, he furrowed his brow in what appeared to be deep thought.

With a sigh of frustration, the reddish Ulaya nosed at the black shell. He blinked as a bit more of the clam became visible, the sand having been brushed away by his wistful nosing. Ah... that's it! I remember... I'm supposed to get rid of this sand around it first. Blaze's smile returned as he got to work pawing away the grains surrounding his would-be lunch.

With most of the clam's barrier gone, it would have taken one simple tug for it to pop out of the ground. However, Blaze's mind was still running on the fact that it would not budge when he had vigorously wrenched at it before. And so, he once again clamped down hard on the shell and gave a mighty tug...

...Only to find himself a second later sitting hard on his bottom in the shallows, the clam shell securely caught in his mouth. He sat dazed for a moment, mind still trying to register what had just happened. Eh... did I get it? Did I do it? he thought excitedly. He blinked around with large magenta eyes, his gaze sweeping over palm trees, sand dunes... and landing on a pair of eyes staring straight back at him.

Faye's ear twitched slightly as she stared ahead blankly at the brightly colored Ulaya. Droplets of clear water dripped from her ears and chin as she blinked a few times at the male and attempted to figure out what had happened. He was on the shore, burying his face in sand... and now, he was in the water. Somehow, he had gotten into the water with a splash only a few inches infront of Faye rather quickly.

Perhaps... he flew! LIKE THE FLAMING SUN BALL THAT HE REALLY IS. She stared at him quietly and studied the other Ulaya with obvious interest. What was in his mouth had caught her attention. What was that? A rock? What kind of Ulaya goes around and chews on rocks? Giving the male a weird look, she shook her head slightly, the drops of water running down the side of her face was starting to annoy her.

Faye's paws flew around underneath her as she ried to find some steady ground without a rock poking her. Now that she was standing on the ground, the water was just to her chin. Lifting her head in an awkward manner, Faye began to ponder what to say to the the rock chewing Ulaya.

Hm, perhaps I should be straightforward and ask him if he's from the sun... Hmmm... He may get annoyed at my question, afterall, he IS rather summer-y looking, him being from the sun may be obvious, a slight frown made itself onto Faye's face as she continued to go over all the possible greetings she could give the Ulaya and all the outcomes to go with those greetings.

A cool breeze whispered through her ears peacefully as the awkward silence continued. It was an interesting habit of Faye's actually. She tended to plan out things carefully and debate with herself mentally, not noticing the eerie silence as she pondered this and that. Letting out a small 'hmmm', she looked to the rock chewer once more and stuck out her tongue slightly in a thoughtful manner.

"Uhm... hell...o...?"

Blaze continued to stare blankly at the brown eyes, mind not quite caught up with the happening. The eyes belonged to... another Ulaya? A blue one to be exact. He cocked his head in curiousity as he finally started becoming aware of his surroundings. Umm...brown eyes of a blue Ulaya in the blue ocean... he thought, going over the information in his head.

Twitching his ears, the red-orange Ulaya decided he should greet the other. It was polite to greet ladies, anyhow. I think. he added silently. Now and then Blaze would pick up random bits of information, and it all eventually became a rather jumbled mess in his mind. But I can't go wrong just greeting new Ulaya I see...he pondered.

With a little nod to himself, he proceeded to introduce himself. The blue female seemed nice enough... After all, she had already said hello to him. And of course he should be the gentleman he was and give a suitable reply.

"...Hraaoooh."

...Wait, what? Did I forget how to speak, too?! Blaze thought in alarm. His magenta eyes blinked rapidly in open confusion. I knew how to speak yesterday still! Oh no! He looked around wildly, ears flickering in distress. He opened his mouth, ready to give a cry of anguish, when suddenly something hard and black fell from his jaws and into the shallows.

Blaze stopped his movements entirely and promptly ducked his head into the water to stare at the new object. Black...hard... clam.

...Oh, yeah.

Faye blinked at him in a confused manner as he gave this.... odd wail of some sort. She ran the sound through her mind quickly before coming to the conclusion that it was somekind of greeting, but his words had been muffled by the rock. Either that or he was a tribal sort of Ulaya that danced around bonfires...

Faye's brown eyes followed the rock fall from his mouth as he opened his mouth. Her dainty paw darted out quickly and reached out for the rock, after curling her paw around the slick black lump, she brought it up so that it barely broke through the water's surface.

Oooh. So it was a clam. That makes more sense. Psssh... Who would go chew on a rocks anyways? Ha~ She mentally laughed at herself for being so silly and having such a frivolous thought. after that, Faye decided to scold herself for not using her brain and thinking of clams. Afterall, this was the beach!

After she was done thinking to herself yet again, Faye stared back at him in slight confusion, she shrugged her shoulders underneath the water and glided forward towards the male in an attempt to get to the shallow end so that salt water wans't sloshing into her mouth. It was rather uncomfortable afterall.

Looking at the male once more, she introduced herself in her usual alluring tone, "I'm Faye, it's a pleasure to meet you," and gave him a pleasantly warm smile. Tilting her head to one side, she waited patiently for his response.
