I went to a gun show and saw a Pourtugeese G3 kit (In a cardboard box and plastic wrapped) for $357.
1) is this a good deal? 2) what does it mean by KIT?

Kit, some parts may be missing, receiver is undoubtedly demiled or torch cut. In other words, it wont work. It's just a parts kit, used for springs and other some such.

Building a 922r compliant G3 with a US receiver would be a b***h.

kit is for spare parts only
receiver has been cut (the part of the gun the BATF considers to be the actual gun, in europe its the barrel) so it doesnt work
you could weld it or make another receiver ninja but its only worth it if ya know how to do it and you dont care about up to 10 years in federal prison
