Zethyr immediately tried to appear as awake as possible, knowing that the other two had noticed, but attempting to cover for himself. When the two started to ask questions, the Melancholy was the one to respond. "We would indeed like to learn the spell..." Eyes were alight with interest, as he did indeed like to do things. However, when they were ready, he turned eyes expectantly to Dariyn. Get up and go, shorty.
Dariyn could feel the other's gaze on him, and he blinked crimson eyes at his friend before shifting uneasily and turning back to the twins. "Er...I...suppose I shall volunteer..." Being the first to do anything always made him nervous...what if something went wrong or he messed up in some way? He was always terribly afraid of somehow making a fool of himself.

Aureus smiled and settled the things they'd assembled before the blunette. "It's not that difficult. Just relax." He spoke softly, trying to soothe the other's obvious nerves.
"We need you to display your ouroborous for us in a just minute..." Argentum added, picking up the dagger and waiting as Aureus added three pinches of salt to the water, "When casting ouroborous, you need to fill the bowl with fresh water and then add three pinches of salt." Dipping the athame into the water, he stirred it around, "And then stir the water - be sure not to remove the dagger when you're finished."
"Next," Here Aureus lifted his gaze back to Dariyn, "You take one sprig of laurel leaves and place them on the ouroborous to be charged...." He waited for the little zero to do as indicated while he explained the next step, "Then chew the mint sprig; if the ouroborous being charged belongs to someone other then yourself, make sure both parties chew mint from the same sprig. In this case, both you and we will need to chew on the mint."

Dariyn nodded, and then glanced between the two he possessed. "My belt..." He tapped it lightly with his finger, "And sleeve..." Pointing to that one, he knew that he had more than his friends did, though he wasn't sure why. Perhaps it would come in handy at some point in time...more was generally better, right? At least that seemed to be what history had proved. Crimson eyes watched the twins curiously, wondering just what came next.
Zethyr, for his part, leaned back, an impish little smile on his face as he observed the three.

"Alright, you need to take some mint from this sprig then," Argentum held up one of the larger pieces, "Chew it but do not swallow it. While you're chewing it, focus on channeling essence into your hands - imagine essence pooling in them."
Aureus took his bit from the mint and popped it his mouth with a smile. "We're going to trace your ouroborous and then pass the dagger onto you. Constant contact with the dagger must be maintained so we can't let go of it until you have a firm grip, understand?" He waited for some indication or questions.

Dariyn gave then a serious nod, and then plucked some of the mint from the sprig that Argentum held, and put it into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully, crimson eyes lidding as it was clear that he was trying to do as they asked him to. At Aureus' question, the younger Empyrean simply nodded again, understanding what it was that they needed to do so that the spell could go on. He was the one of the two zeroes least likely to ask questions.

A momentary pause then, as Aureus and Argentum called Essence to their hands and retrieved the dagger from the bowl of water. Then, gentle but firm at the same time the two each wrapped a hand about the hilt and traced the shape of the ourobouros first on Dariyn's belt and then his arm badge. As they did so, their essence left a sort of glittering trail that simmered for a moment before fading away, as though being absorbed by the symbol.
When they were finished, they held the dagger out to Dariyn, hilt first as they had shifted their grip such that they were holding the flat of the blade. "Now you take it and do the same thing, focusing on channeling your essence through your hands into the blade and then into the ouroborous."

Dariyn smiled ever so faintly, though his eyes remained closed until he was spoken to again, fingers curled about the hilt of the dagger, careful to keep it in contact with his ouroborous as he did so...taking a little hitching breath and focusing as he'd been taught. This was one of the things that he had tried...to improve himself in, the control of his essence...and it seemed that there were at least some rewards to such meditation...he could feel it...control it...doing just as they had instructed him.
Zethyr, still sitting, watched as they worked, knowing that his turn would be next, and though he did want to do it right, he still couldn't help feeling as though he had something of a joke on everyone.
