ok. So I have the fat Playstation 2 and I've played the original FFVII for the Playstation 1 on the PS2 a lot and it works fine. Now my friend has the slim PS2. She wanted to play the game so I let her borrow it. The thing is the screen keeps scrolling down and once it reaches the bottom it goes back to the normal position then scrolls down again, and keeps on repeating that. BUT it doesn't do that when it shows the Playstation logo at the beginning and then the 'Sony Entertainment America Presents' (or something like that). It only starts when the music begins and continues even when your playing.
So does any one know whats wrong with it? I works for me so I thought that it might be her PS2. But my cousin has a slim PS2 to and plays PS1 games all the time. Yet he doesn't have that problem? Its driving us nuts!!

The issue is related to the TV connection or AV channel. What version of the game are you running PAL, NTSC or NTSC/J? I recommend for the best experience and best method to resolve this issue is to connect the PS2 to a TV via a scart cable which is cheap around £10 or $4.5 give or take. Scart connection to PS2 will be displayed via the AV channel and will also give you a better display clarity than the box standard rf connection. I hope this helps. Usually the slim PS2 is unstable. My friend has the same problem with some of her games, for example, in FFXII, you'd see holes in Penelo's head. sweatdrop For some people it might work fine, but it tends to malfunction.
Next time, please ask this question in the Beginner's Hall subforum. I'll move this there shortly.
